Bitter and hardened heart,
Oh, aching, waiting for life to start.
Meet me in the morning when you wake up,
Meet me in the morning then you'll wake up.

June 13th, 4 pm.

They didn't talk later, as promised. The afternoon went by, and they didn't say a word to each other. Why is this mess happening right before their wedding? In Tweek's mind, it's almost as if Craig is doing it on purpose. They had just made up from a fight, and they were already starting another one.

And Craig knew Tweek wouldn't rest until he found a job, but it was hard to find one that he wanted. Maybe he could get a part time job, and then look for a real one after the wedding? No... it's better if he waits for after.

A notification on his phone brought him back to reality. He groaned, sitting up on the couch. It was a text from Tolkien.

"JRRTolkien: hey man, how's everything? Did you talk to Father Maxi yet? You said he was your second option so..."

At this point, his friends already knew about Father Peter's passing. They wanted, and needed to be as updated as possible.

"You: not doing so well tbh. Me and Tweek fought again, because guess what?! I decided to quit my job!😀

JRRTolkien: HUH?? WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT AT A TIME LIKE THIS??

You: I'll explain it to you later if you want, but not right now, please.
You: listen, I talked to Father Maxi and he said me and Tweek could come tomorrow in the afternoon. Thing is, I didn't warn Tweek about it, and I don't have the balls to text him now

JRRTolkien: well, then what? You're gonna leave the man hanging? Choose your priorities, dude. What's more important? Your pride for a couple of minutes, or a talk that you and the man you wanna marry will need to have eventually?"

Craig groaned. Fuck this. Fuck me.

"You: dude, this is hard for me too! You think I deliberately decided to mess everything up??

JRRTolkien: man, I love you. You're my best friend. And because of that, I need to wake you up for reality. You need to swallow your goddamn pride, sometimes. How many sacrifices has Tweek made for you? If you're not gonna do this for yourself, at least do it for him."

The thing about Tolkien is that he always knows what to say in the most aggressive way possible. For Craig, that's not a bad thing. Because he knows that Tolkien knows, a verbal punch is what he needs, sometimes. He needs someone to slap him across the face (metaphorically, and eventually physically), to wake him up for reality.

Yeah... Yeah, he's as right as ever. Tweek has done so much for him in the past. Apologizing shouldn't and won't be a problem.

5 pm.

Tweek typed on his computer, taking a sip off his coffee every now and then. The mug had "best teacher" written on it. The kids had given it to him as a Christmas gift. He uses it for coffee ever since.

The classroom's windows were open all the way, to let the cool air in. He could hear the sound of kids playing outside... It was just him, his coffee, his students' drawings, and the not so silent silence. This would be a very relaxing atmosphere for a teacher if it wasn't for the mess his relationship was currently in.

He groaned, running his hands through his dirty-blond hair. He decided to remake his ponytail, then. Something to do with his hands. But he heard whispering and then three loud knocks on the door.

"Come in!"

The door opened slowly, revealing his entire class. He blinked in surprise and stood up.

"You guys are still here? School ended half an hour ago."

"We can't take it anymore!!"

"It's too much to handle, teach!"

"What is too much to handle?" He chuckled, kneeling down to be on their level.

"We made this for you during lunch time, when uncle Craig came to visit!" Lauren, the small, ginger haired girl exclaimed, shoving a paper in the blond's face. He let out a tiny gasp when he saw the picture in it.

It was a (poor) drawing of him and Craig, both dressed in white, kissing under a big rainbow. They had flowers and hearts surrounding them, and Tweek couldn't help but tear up a little.

The kids knew the couple was having their problems. They might be 5, but they're not stupid- something he learned quite fast. They could hear the argument they had in the teachers' lounge, and they could also sense how sad the both of them were when Tweek entered the classroom, and Craig left through the big doors of the school. Even if they knew the two of them were struggling, they still drew them as a happy, perfect (and very gay) couple. Tweek doesn't know if they made this to make him feel better, or because his class was way too excited about them getting married. Either way, the childrens knew this little fight was nothing against their relationship, and that's what motivated him. He smiled, hugged some of his students muttering a "thank you", and ran to his phone.

Once he reached it, he spotted a silhouette at the door. At first it scared him, but the fear got replaced by relief when he saw Craig looking around the classroom.

"Do you mind if I come in?"

Tweek sighed, letting himself sit on the floor, as the children ran around. Some ran outside, some stayed but played around the classroom. So, Craig joined his fiancé on the floor.

"I know you have work but this is important, and I need to get this off my system before I explode." Tweek frowned and looked up at his boyfriend. "I'm sorry about today. About today, and about the past few days as well. I'm going to be totally honest with you, my emotions have been all over the place lately. Our wedding is something very special, and I don't want anything to ruin it. It's our day, and I want it to go perfectly. But that's been deteriorating both me, and our relationship. I'm sorry that I quit my job today. I should've waited, but I did what I felt was right. You have all the right to be mad at me. I just want you to forgive me, so we can move on, and live a happy marriage without any fights."

The blond smiled softly, "Yeah... I'm sorry t-"

"Don't you dare finish that sentence. You have nothing to apologize for. You're an amazing teacher, an amazing man, and you're an amazing boyfriend. I will do anything for you, even if that means I will have to suck my nerves."

"Craig, don't bottle up your emotions. It's okay to feel scared and nervous. I feel like that all the time! But sometimes we need to think before we act. I've been telling you that you should meditate with me because it helps but nOoooooo, it's too boring, right?"

"Honey, I'm not a buddhist, I don't do mediation." Craig giggled.

"You don't need to be buddhist to meditate! It's literally an exercise to help you put your mind at ease!"

They laughed softly, as they held hands.

"Okay, I'll try it someday... I also came to tell you that I talked to Father Maxi, and he says he will be more than happy to be the priest at our wedding. I told him we would come by tomorrow in the afternoon to talk to him."

Tweek gasped happily and stood up.

"Really?? He said 'yes'?!"

Eh... Maybe they can work it out.

No, they will work it out.
