A hasty judgment is a first step to recantation.

I pulled up to the Stark County Jail house. I looked around for a moment then I finally spotted who I was looking for. I beeped the horn. This nigga was standing there just looking like the passenger seat was going to jump out at his ass.

He hopped in the front seat looking like a new ass man. I guess that's what three years did to you. Much hadn't changed except his beard had gotten a little longer. I missed my brother a little. We weren't blood-but shit you couldn't tell us any different. We been running the same streets since the age of ten. My nigga had a daughter by 16- and was locked down by the time she was four- but to her Qasim was her knight in shining armor.

I put my Chevy Caprice in reverse and headed to the crib.

"Nigga I hope this your last time getting locked up. You gotta do something different for Trinity sake." I remarked, shaking my head.

He stared out the window- I guess he ain't feel like the preaching- but at twenty-three it was time to go the straight and narrow.

"What the fuck I got to do except be in these streets AK? Nigga ain't go to college like you." he exclaimed, sucking his teeth.

I rolled my eyes. That was always his main excuse.

"Nigga you don't need a college degree to make some shit out yo self. If anything you should want to do better for the little girl at the crib who adores you. Newsflash, women tend to date what their father's model. You want Trin to end up with a nigga who in and out of jail? I questioned, getting a little frustrated with his nonchalant attitude.

"Nah man, I made a promise to myself-and God during them three years that I was going to straighten myself out. I ain't gotta be stupid about shit. I want more for Trin than I had. I thank you, and Liese for watching my baby while I was down too. I'm glad I chose ya'll as God parents." He replied, turning his attention back to the window.

"Ya know I got ya boss. We been down for the longest, and you ain't even have to ask. But, Liese is having a little kickback at her crib tonight. I think you should come through. Her best friend gonna be there." I smirked, peering through the rear view.

He shook his head back and forth

"Nigga, I'll come through-but I don't need no type of hookups. I'll leave that relationship shit to you and JC. The female race is better without me, and vice versa." He replied, changing the station on the radio.

This nigga was so hooked up on how Tee played him that he was hell bent on giving anybody who took interest in him hell. I didn't blame him though. That girl took him through hell and back when it came to being pregnant, and when she had Trin. He was only 16- but he was determined to give Trin and Tee the world.

My phone rang bringing me out my thoughts

"AK with the AK, and I'm always at your service" I answered, making a left on to Trenton Avenue.

I heard the soft giggles come through the phone

"Nigga who answers their phone like that? What if I was twelve or something?" she chuckled, saying something to someone in the background.

"I already knew it was you. I got your number saved with them dumb ass emoji's you added" I replied sucking my teeth at the thought of it.

"Nigga emoji's lets a bitch know it's real, and it also lets yo hoes know what's up." She stated, partially playing- but serious at the same time.
