Qasim

Today has been an overall shitty day. Dom has been a basic ass bitch all day. Nigga spilled oil everywhere, fucked up a part order, and scratched up a Benz while moving a set of tools. I was ready to get my baby, drop her off at Mrs.O- and go home to my lady.

I pulled into the parking lot, and turned the car off. I had to mentally prepare myself for Mia bullshit.

Mia was a cool lil chick that I met after Trin mom. I wasn't looking for a relationship. I made that clear from jump street. She fell in love, and I dipped. Long story short, she swore I was fighting my true feelings for her.

I adjusted my Made and Co fitted. Once it was laying low, I made my way inside.

I took in all the children's art on the Kindergarten hall. I made it to the 1st grade hall in no time. I was checking out the art. I saw mini me drawing on the wall. It looked like me, her, and the whole crew. Each one was labeled properly as Uncle, Auntie, and Nana. The title by O had me looking funny.

This little boy and girl running caught my attention. He caught up to her and shoved her. The little girl hit the floor with a thud.

"Hey, come here!"

He looked at me like nigga please. I was doing what needed to be done.

"Come here, what's your name?" I questioned, stooping down to his level.

"Naseem" he muttered.

"Come here lil mama."

She looked like she was trying hard to hold her tears in. She stood beside Naseem.

"Why did you push her lil man?"

He looked down then back up. Like he was contemplating his reasoning behind his actions.

"She's my girl. I had the 64 box of crayons. She wanted to use Chris because his had the sharpener on it. Dad says you hit them, they listen."

That shit had me blown.

"What's your name?"

"Kelis"

Funny thing is she had a head full of big fluffy curls like the singer Kelis.

"You always hit her lil man?"

He looked down, at me, and over at her.

"I punch, push, and kick her. Her don't listens-do it over. She listen, she won't get hit." He mumbled, crossing his arms.

I wanted to choke the life out of his father. This little boy was going down a life cycle- but I was stopping it.

"Hitting her is going to make her not like you. She's going to break up with you. Chris is probably nicer to her. If she hit you, would you want to be her friend?" I asked, taking a seat on the floor.

"She not. Cause I the man!" He gritted, as she flinched.

Her flinching made me wonder exactly how long this little boy has been subjecting her to his home lifestyle.

"Where is your teacher Kelis?"

"Miss Mia is our teacher." She responded, eyes fixated on the ground.

"Why you looking at the ground Kelis?"

"Seem say it's dis"

"Disrespect" I interjected, stroking my beard.

She nodded quickly and Naseem mugged me.

"Look, what I do is my bizness." He huffed, snatching Kelis arm.
