Making them believe her sob story was easier than she thought. She'd set everything in motion to go as planned. Only thing is, she had to kill Tee. If she hadn't killed Tee, and got Don to assault Rina and hid out, none of this would have come together. Setting Qasim up wasn't the plan at first. However, she was tired of feeling powerless and weak. She felt as though they never gave her the credit she deserved. As Don kissed all over her, she knew tonight would be his last breath. She couldn't and refused to let him leave alive. The pompous jerk knew too damn much about everything.
As he kissed her, she held the 45. Caliber to his head and pulled the trigger. Watching his brains splatter everywhere gave her a thrill, a sense of satisfaction. Struggling to push his body off her, she thought back on her life. Mia was born into a family never wanting for anything. Her mom was a successful graphic designer, father a retired baseball player. Yet, she was always in the shadows of her sisters. Tee had the brains and beauty, but Mia knew of her extracurricular activities with drugs. Karina was a hoe, and she was a proud hoe. Mia fought to make a name for herself, that was out of the shadows of her sisters. Although, it was hard- everyone expected her to either end up addicted to drugs, or sleeping around like Karina. Then Honey came along, and the family treated her like their prized possessions. Mia wasn't Tristan, Karina, or Honey. However, one thing she'd perfected was the craft of manipulation and lying. Mia used it to the best of her abilities in everything she'd accomplished in life. She'd lied about Honey and Papa, she'd lied to Qasim to get him into bed, and she'd lied about birth control. One would think, her entire existence was a lie. Setting the scene perfectly, she waited until Qasim entered her house to call the police. After screaming into the phone like a mad woman- the police arrived minutes later.
When she made her confession to AnaLiese, she knew the bitch was recording. She might have been a step ahead, but she wasn't the brightest bitch in the crayon box. She'd concocted that lie 10 minutes before Analiese arrived. Mia loved Qasim and wanted a family with him but, she'd be damned if she let Honey raise her son and niece. The bitch was out of her mind. Leaving out of the tiny one bedroom studio flat she'd been living in she dialed out on the disposable phone.
"Is it all done? Is he taken into custody?" the heavy baritone vibrated through the phone.
Rolling her eyes, she picked at her nails. Stealing her Auntie husband was a breeze but, this nigga was by far one of the dumbest men ever. He really thought she was doing all this for a life with him. Hell no.
She'd set everything up to fall on Honey's dad. She just felt the need to let Qasim sweat a little for acting like she wasn't his true love.
"It's a private jet waiting at the airport. Mia, be there in an hour" he stated.
There would be a body waiting, but not the one he'd expect. Typing out on the phone, she instructed her best friend to take Don's body to the airport.
Checking her surroundings, she should've gotten Don to kill Rina instead of beating her ass. Although, she felt that Don did enough damage she wouldn't dare come forward with the truth. Making her way towards her rental car she drove to the safe house that once belonged to Honey's father.
Pulling up in the driveway, she had an eerie feeling about leaving the car. Putting the car in reverse, she saw the light come on in the bedroom. Honey's dad either was setting her up, or someone had followed her. Thinking about her next move, a bullet came through the back windshield causing her to duck. A few more shots rang out as she prayed for them to stop.
Suddenly the driver's door was snatched open with force. Mia hadn't unlocked the door so, the person had to be pissed. The force to her left jaw made it feel as though it was dislocated or broken. The mystery person snatched her up by her hair, dragging her into the safe house. Her eyes adjusted to the light, but widened once she was met with familiar faces. Cursing herself, something told her to go with Don. Staring back at her without a cut or bruise was her sister. The tables had turned, and her well thought out plan, had taken a turn for the worst.
"Bitch, sending a punk ass nigga to do a man's job was senseless" Rina spat.
Fear was etched into Mia's face as she looked at Qasim, Analiese, Kaydence, and Honey. There was another unknown face, but she didn't dare inquire about who it was.
"Don confessed as soon as he got his dick sucked. Nigga was singing like a Sunday choir." Karina yelled.
Shaking her head, Mia knew she'd fucked up sending Don dumb ass. The nigga was a gull for her sister.
"Why?" Honey questioned, tears falling down her face.
Thinking through her thoughts, Mia didn't feel Honey was due an explanation. The bitch had everything she's ever wanted. Money, unconditional love from her mom, the man of her dreams, and two children that loved her as if she birthed them.
Staring at her she decided to leave her with the question of why. Fuck a response. She wouldn't be the only one left to deal with the aftermath. Let the bitch wonder why she'd plotted all of this. Rolling her eyes, she only let out a small chuckle.
Mia could only wonder if the police was going to be called What she didn't know is, Uncle Harvey was listening the entire time. Mia was too little to remember when Harvey used to come around. Finally stepping up he spoke for the first time.
"You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to an attorney. If you cannot afford an attorney, one will be provided for you. Do you understand the rights I have just read to you? With these rights in mind, do you wish to speak to me?"
Going down alone wasn't an option. As Harvey placed handcuffs on Mia, she began to scream and cry.
"This bitch helped kill Tee. Arrest her for being an accessory to the crimes. She isn't innocent. She's mad because she didn't think of this."
Moving to my feet, he shackled my ankles. There were faint sounds of police sirens. They only got louder as they approached.
A voice came through on dispatch saying they'd arrested Honey's father. The look on her face was unreadable. She never got along with him but, she still loved him.
Through it all Naseem never crossed my mind. He had Qasim and Honey, yet, a void would still be there. Naseem would have to go the rest of his life without me. The tears fell down Rina's face as she stared at me.
Glancing at Honey, Q tried to grab her arm but she shook him off. No words were exchanged except the powerful slap that was delivered. Deep down, the only thing that hurt the most- was the disapproving look that was on Q face. His face would be the last thing haunting my dreams.
Dodging karma had become a life long career but-she was calling, and it left no choice but to answer....

I know it isn't the weekend but here is another update. Considering how I went with this chapter....it changes the direction of the next two chapters. I may delete them completely and give you guys the happy ending. I gotta brainstorm a little. However, enjoy it and please excuse any mistakes.
