          Mula sa ikalabing-apat na palapag naka-upo kami paharap sa gabing maulap na langit, hindi kulay itim. Dito lang sa Canada ako nakakaranas ng maaraw sa gabi, hindi siya totally na maliwanag med'yo lang. Tahimik ang pagitan namin nitong kasama kong walang pangalan, kaya agad naman akong naka-isip ng useless na topic para naman ma-ibsan ang katahimikan ngayong alas-dose.

"May kuwento ako." panimula ko, nagsalin siya ng Carménère wine sa baso namin, lasang dried fruits.

"What is it?" interesadong tanong niya sabay lagok ng sinalinan niya. Hindi ko pa nagagalaw ang akin.

"I read this from somewhere, I think it comes to Amilah's book." he nodded as I uttered Amilah's name.

"A love story?"

"Yeah.."

"Kiannah, enjoy the night." he almost whispered, napalingon naman ako sa kan'ya.

"Gusto kong mag-kuwento."

"Spill it." hindi interesadong aniya pero may ngiti sa labi niya, he maybe don't want to talk about love stories. Bitter yarn?

"There's this someone that made the girl so luckiest, he ask her everyday what her day's going, what is she feeling. Treat her to somewhere and even he's busy he's finding a time to spend a moment with her, it's just that the things we can't imagine if it's happening in real life." I heard a sigh from him before he thought about what to answer, tonight only our room has the window open and drinks until morning.

"What story book tells you were happening in real life, some sort of it were the experience to ones another. Well, to answer you that. A loving man full of sincerity will probably do that, it's not a fantasy nor a fiction. It's a normal thing a man should do, a man should try his best because he's courting a love of his life, right?"

"That is how date to marry works?"

"Kiannah..." Ang mahinang pagtawa niya ang nagpa-kurap sa akin ng dalawang beses, agad kong nailipat ang atensiyon sa ibang bagay nang lumingon siya sa akin. "What's the purpose of courting if you aren't sure to marry her? To be with her for the rest of your lifetime?" And now I know what's the reason why he hates to talk about love stories.

"Naranasan mo na?"

"Ang alin?" Nasa kuryusidad niyang tanong.

"That you didn't continue your courtship?"

"I don't think so she has a conscious that I was courting her." Aray naman non!

"Okay lang sa 'yo?"

"Yeah... I'm just loving her."

"Bakit hindi mo sinabi." Now I turned my gaze to listen to him, my hand is carrying my face while my elbow is resting on the table between us.

"I'm not like that, I'm not giving a time to advertise just to flirt."

"Paano kung nag assume siya?"

"What do you mean?"

"Kunwari hindi mo naman talaga siya gusto pero nagbibigay ka ng malisiya, so what if kung nag assume siya? Edi in the end masasaktan siya?" umiling-iling siya na para bang sigurado siya sa naisagot niya.
