Dorian

I wake up in my bed with a heavy head.

My heart wrenches.

It feels heavy and afloat.

I call a maid. She bows her head down.

"Where is the princess"

Panic settles in her face.

"She-she's, the staff are looking for her."

My face sets in fury.

She's gone.

I know.

I can feel it in my bones.

My breathing becomes labored and I feel my ears ring.

My vision goes in and out, like a bomb has just gone off.

"Briar!" I yell savagely.

"Briar" I roar.

I feel my eyes go black and I become the beast, the monster that's truly undead.

She left me.

She will now face my wrath.

The glass shattered against the palace walls.

"What do you mean you can't find her" I bellow. My eyes were red and my fangs were bared in pure anger.

She could not have done this alone, and if someone is helping her there is only one place, one person they would take her. She thinks she can leave me. Cute.

It's been days since I'd seen her and my mind was descending into the depths of darkness. I needed her and I could not cope. My monster was threatening to emerge and my body was getting weaker. It didn't help that she marked me so now I was even more at her mercy.

I missed her, my body went back into a depression similar to when I first lost her.

I was deeply worried for her safety, I couldn't sleep, and the maids would sneak elixirs into my food. She was alone, and she was human. She would be torn apart.

When I get her back she will face serious consequences, I will no longer be patient with her. We will immediately get married and I will mark her that way she won't ever be able to leave me.

I try to visit her in her sleep to convince her to come back but for some reason it doesn't work when she's in my lands, which is part of why I stopped. When I can visit her is when I know she's passed the boundary and when I do she will remember because she has met me in real life. It will be the beginning of an epiphany for her and the unveiling of the truth.

We spent so much time in each other's arms, she thinks I'm a stranger but I've always been the man she's loved, a man she thought wasn't real. She'll no doubt come back to me.

If she has to be dragged back to me in chains,

So be it.

I look in the mirror my eyes bloodshot and dark circles blemishing. My hair has gone scraggly and my lids are half open with exhaustion. My lips part and they're the only beauty I see.

The lips that touched her skin.

I am tortured by the time before she left. The moment my lips had made contact with her soft skin and I heard pleasure slip from her mouth I was gone. When she sang she sounded like an angel but when she moaned she sounded like a siren.

Her blood was the most delicious thing I had ever tasted. However, it was not only satiating the hunger that I felt. Our bond made me thirst for her. Such an intimate act had made my blood rush and my body weak despite the rejuvenation I was getting. To see her shake in pleasure in my arms was almost more than I can take.

One night she will try to get far away and I will visit her as the man in her dreams.

She loved him so she will love me. I am him after all.

Briar Rose

I hear the footsteps of horses and the rolling of a carriage.

"Beautiful sky isn't it."

Through blurry eyes, I look up to see Ivy with long brown locs surrounding her, down around her waist.

Her green cat-like eyes observe me. It seems whenever I see her, she changes.

I look out of the carriage to see deep indigo above with gold sparkled like dust.

"So beautiful"

The stars shine so brilliantly and I can't help but think if Dorian right now is looking at the sky with me.

"We will be crossing soon." She says glancing up her green eyes shining.

"Where are you taking me."

"The soothsayer, only she can take you back to your realm."

"Where is she?"

She frowns. "You don't find her, she finds you. But she will eventually show up at the willow if you wait."

"The tree is in the lands of Herondale, the soothsayer is the most powerful sorceress."

"Is it dangerous for me here?" I ask eagerly for my safety.

She shrugs, "Witches don't care for humans much, some are dangerous sure but the most they would do was try and get a bounty on you."

"Where are we now?"

Her eyes turn dark, "The fastest way from Aurum to Herondale is through the land of wolves, Hecate"

"You, here are not safe."

"Why not?"

She looks me dead in the eyes.

"Because of me."

Bang!

The carriage comes to a halt and we lurch forward in shock. Ivy catches me as the carriage is bent over, a wheel broken.

"It seems my dear mate has found me."

"W-what, you have one too?"

"I-I don't understand" I whisper.

"I ran away from him just like you did."

Slam!

The window opens and I see two black eyes staring through. Dark hands grab Ivy and drag her out. She doesn't even resist she looks me in the eyes as if sending a message: don't run yet.

I see the man crush her in a forced hug breathing erratically.

Then I see a pair of tan hands grab me.

I come face to face with a pair of brown eyes.
