Previously In the evening

"I am sorry Sher, I think that I am unwell" Amelia said massing her temples, she looked as if she was about to pass out.

Sherlock eyed her protectively. He dared the gentlemen around him to make a move or to even dare to ask if she needed help. He was there and it was more than enough.

If his friend had to ask help to someone, it was him and no one else. He had met her when he was fifteen and she was fourteen. At first, he had dismissed her quickly. She looked like an ordinary lady that his dear brother tried to match him with.

He had successfully escaped being betrothed to any of these dull and conventional things called a lady. They were boring and so predictable. It wasn't even fun to analyse them, it always told him the same things.

He even thought that they were all the same person. It was frightening how nobility raised their daughters to be exactly the same. Only that fact made him despise the idea of being engaged to one "cloned" lady.

His brother had almost given up on finding him a match when he was that age. No more meetings about engagement or presenting ladies to him were planned. He had almost thought that his sibling had leave him alone with that issue.

This was what he thought until he discovered that Mycroft wanted to introduce him to another young lady. He had scoffed at him. Sherlock tried to escape that rendez-vous, but it was all for naught.

His brother put even more energy on making sure that he actually meets that lady. Previously, Mycroft had not bothered if Sherlock skipped one because there were others waiting for him.

This time, he felt that his brother was very serious about this meeting, this could only be bad news to him. He may have already been promised to that lady.

Although, he ended up attending that meeting. After all, he was curious at what sort of lady was making his brother care for his little brother more than usual.

They met at his house. She arrived dressed in a light blue dress which defined her figure but wasn't tight enough to restraint her movements.

It was raining when he first saw her, she had an umbrella which was a classical black and with a handle in dark wood. He vaguely saw the handle shined, which was odd. She wasn't so simple after all.

This Lady had a different allure. She seemed as if she was walking gracefully on the edge of a sword. She knew where she was going, and no one would made her question it. He strived to understand that lady.

He smiled as she sat and she smiled back. No words were needed to understand each other. Sherlock didn't have many friends but he just knew that it was the start of a beautiful friendship.

He didn't know where it would bring him but he will enjoy every part of it. Unknown to him his brother observing them from an hidden hole behind a book smirked.

It was worth the hassle to convince him to attend this rendez-vous. Afterwards, his family almost adopted her and she was often at his house.

They spent many afternoon exploring London's streets disguised as children of the Est End. One time, they even pretended to be adults and went to a bar to investigate a case of bribery to hide illegal importation.

Let's say that Mycroft wasn't happy but Amelia's mother patted her back and he heard her tell her congrats.

In the years following their meeting, she never ceased to amazed him. Her wits and knowledge combined with her combat skills were as admirable as her personality.

She was willing when she wanted to dirty her hands as much as needed to get to her goals. Although, she always had an air of mystery around her. Even if they saw each other often, he lost track of her even with his brother's network.
