Durham, University of Durham, One Week Later

"Pens down, this is all for this exam." Said the Professor William James Moriarty.

Sherlock Holmes didn't know why he was doing this. He was so lost for the first time in his whole life. Since he had become a consultant detective, he never doubted once that what he was doing or thinking was right. He simply felt the thrilled of solving seemingly impossible case.

Along the way, he found Amelia. The only Lady who didn't fit the incarnation of a typical lady. They went on adventures together, they come to a mutual understanding. They wouldn't tell the other what they should do or pry on their respective affairs. Amelia didn't tell him to not consummate drugs or to be more gentlemen like and he wouldn't ask about her personal business. It worked until now.

"Professor?" he said standing up while Moriarty was wondering about the answers of his students.

He looked surprised to see him for a moment before his features hardened. Then he displayed a satisfied smirk. That was a bit out of the ordinary, but Liam was Liam.

"Sherlock Holmes ... What brings you here?" said his equal amused by his presence.

Sherlock was unsure before why he came but now it became clear that he was here to verify something and to change his mind. That discussion with Amelia was unpleasant but at the same time, it brought him boundless excitement to imagine them opponent. He always wondered what it felt now he would know. How it would end only time would say. He simply wished that it will not break their relationship. He didn't what he would do without her.

"I just wanted to pass by and see you in your own element, Liam." He answered smirking.

"Are you sure that you don't prefer me to stay?" inquired Ciel Phantomhive ushering his older cousin.

Since the kidnapping of Amelia, the Count wouldn't admit to himself that he was much more stressed whenever she goes out to her socialite events. He tried to follow her around to make sure that she was safe. Although, after a few days, he simply died. His body wouldn't follow and his brain was dying of trying to absorb too many versions of the same damn story. Of course, as usual, Ame wasn't having any of it.

"I am sure, don't worry about me. You must do our familial duty. You have never failed it. It is not our generation that will disrupt two hundred and eighty-six years of counts and countesses refusing to fulfill our sacred task." Said Ame with a dark look.

He nodded. He knew more than anyone that this duty and authority conferred by the Crown was his best chance to avenge his family. Although, he also wanted to make sure that his remaining family was well.

"I know but..." started Ciel before realizing that he was acting like a child. He couldn't act like this. "Yes." He said as he gave a small kiss on the hand of Amelia.

He barely saw Sebastian and Amelia exchanged a small nod. He hoped that nothing too bad would happen during his absence.

....

Amelia looked at the disappearing figure of her little cousin, Ciel Phantomhive had to be strong. He couldn't stray from their familial duty. She wished in a way that her aunt and uncle were still alive and well. This time of innocence were long since gone, they all had outgrown them.

Even though that her family had difficulties accepting that fact. Although, they had to face the truth. She recalled their discussions while Ciel was away to conduct his affairs. More likely taste the French viennoiserie*.
