Chapter 22: A Day in the Sun

When Taehyung and Jungkook walk into the interview room, they sit across from a raccoon hybrid. The first couple of minutes go by quietly as she looks over their paperwork.

"How long have you two been mates?" She asks after going over their papers.

"Since I was thirteen, and he was fourteen." Taehyung answers as he holds Jungkook's hand.

"Ok, Jeon Jungkook, it says that you work for a construction company owned by a hybrid. Is this true?"

"Yes, Ma'am."

"Kim Taehyung, it says that you work at Seuljo hospital. Is this true?"

"Yes, Ma'am."

As Taehyung and Jungkook are being interviewed, Jimin and Yoongi are called to a room. Yoongi gently picks Jimin up because the babies are kicking and causing him trouble. When they walk into the room, Yoongi gently sets Jimin in the chair.

"Hm, so you are pregnant. Is the offspring Min Yoongi's?" The koala hybrid asks as she observes Jimin's swollen belly.

"Yes, Ma'am." Jimin answers and crawls into Yoongi's lap because it's more comfortable.

"Ok, according to the records, there are two babies, one cub and one kit."

"Yes, Ma'am."

"You are due in four months?"

"Yes, Ma'am."

"That is unfortunate." Jimin and Yoongi look at her confused when they hear her.

"Do you know the sex?"

"They are both male." Yoongi answers as he looks at her and protectively holds Jimin.

Soon, all of the interviews are finished, and the whole family reunites in the foyer of the City Hall.

"What do you think she meant when she said it was unfortunate?" Jimin asks Yoongi as Yoongi carries him.

"I'm not sure, Mini." Yoongi quietly sighs and rubs Jimin's back.

"Who said something is unfortunate?" Jin asks when he hears Jimin and Yoongi's conversation.

"Our interviewer told us that it is unfortunate that the babies are due in four months." Yoongi answers when he walks up to the rest of the family.

"Let's see if we can sneak out of here without shit being thrown on us." Jungkook mumbles as he covers Taehyung and himself with his jacket.

"Fucking animals." Yoongi growls as he tucks Jimin under his arm.

They all quickly run out of the building to their cars and try to avoid the largest part of the crowd. As they run to their cars, some of the protestors notice them and throw objects at them. Jungkook quickly wraps his arm around Taehyung's waist and pulls him closer. When they reach their car, Jungkook quickly opens the door and helps Taehyung in then runs to his side and hops in.

"Are you ok?" Taehyung asks as he takes a banana peel out of Jungkook's hair.

"I'm ok. It would be nice of the government had security protecting us when they're the ones who randomly summoned us here." Jungkook mutters as he starts the car.

"Let's go to the lake." Taehyung tells Jungkook as they pull out of the parking lot.

"That sounds perfect." Jungkook smiles and heads towards the lake. The rest of the family follows behind.

"Where are we going?" Jimin asks Yoongi as they head away from their home.

"I have no idea, but I'm sure Jungkook wouldn't go to some random place.
