Chapter 18: Imprint

"Taehyung! Have you seen the news?!" Jin yells as he and the others run into Taehyung and Jimin's office.

"What's wrong?" Taehyung panics as he checks the news on his phone. "Fuck!" He yells and runs out of the office. I'm coming! Please be ok! Please tell me you escaped!

"Run! Kid! Run!" Hajoon yells as he shoves Jungkook out of the door.

"Hyung!" Jungkook yells as the door shuts.

Before he knows it, the door busts open again and Hajoon comes out.

"Didn't I tell you to run?!" Hajoon yells and drags Jungkook down the alley. "You go right, and I'll go left. Go home!" Hajoon tells Jungkook then turns left.

Jungkook listens and runs to right. "Fuck." Jungkook whimpers as he feels the pain in his side. "Come on, Jungkook. Keep  moving." He pants as he becomes dizzy from blood loss.

As he limps down the alley, he hears the police sirens and guns going off in the distance. He fights as he feels his world becoming blurry and spinning. When he finds a good place to hide, he slides to the ground and holds his side. Jungkook realizes that Hajoon had handed him his phone when they ran, so he tries to call Taehyung, but his hands are too shaky.

"Please." Jungkook whimpers as his world starts slowing down.

"Jungkook!!! Jungkook! Answer me!" Taehyung yells as he runs through the alleys. The sounds of the raid are so loud that Taehyung is afraid that Jungkook won't be able to hear him. Ok. Calm down. His scent. You can find him. Taehyung takes a deep breath and searches for Jungkook's scent. When he catches Jungkook's scent, there is a lot of blood mingled in. 

As Taehyung gets closer, he can hear his mate's labored breathing. Taehyung runs as fast as his legs will allow him.

"Jungkook!" Taehyung cries out when he sees his mate crumpled on the ground in a pool of blood.

"Taehyung." Jungkook weakly answers when he hears Taehyung's voice.

"I'm here. I'm here. Let's go." Taehyung tells Jungkook as he lifts him from the ground.

Taehyung struggles as his large mate leans into him. "It's ok. I've got you." Taehyung grunts as he drags Jungkook to his car.

When Taehyung reaches his car, he lays Jungkook in the back seat then races home. For once, his race car driving pays off. He quickly unloads Jungkook from the back of his car then drags him to the elevator. 

Taehyung sniffles as he watches the blood pooling around them. "Jungkook, you better stay with me."

"I will, Pup." Jungkook weakly whispers and smiles at his mate.

"Good."

The moment the elevator doors open, Taehyung drags Jungkook into their apartment and into the bathroom. He instantly begins trying to stop the bleeding. After a few minutes, there is a knock on the door. 

Taehyung goes to the door then freezes when he catches the scent of a rabbit and a balinese cat. He takes a deep breath and opens the door. To his surprise, Jae is standing there in his police uniform.

"I'm so sorry, Sir. We followed the scent and blood trail of a dangerous carnivore being chased in a raid here." Jae says as he pretends he doesn't know Taehyung.

"We saw blood leading to your apartment." The feline explains as he looks around the apartment from the door.

"We don't sense the dangerous carnivore here." Jae says as he and his partner do not take a step inside the apartment.

"We will just take a blood sample and trace the dangerous carnivore with the DNA." The feline mumbles as he swabs the blood.

Taehyung watches as the feline sneakily throws the swab away.
