Chapter 17: Adapt

As the months go by, Taehyung and the others watch as more and more shops close off to carnivores. It becomes harder for their carnivore family to leave the complex because more and more protests are turning violent towards the innocent and scared carnivores.

"Another one? This is the one we shop at." Jin hisses as he watches the news of one of the grocery stores next to their complex closes its doors to carnivores.

"I don't understand. Carnivore crimes are ten times lower than herbivore crimes." Taehyung whimpers as he looks at the screen.

"I think there's a protest going on at another shopping center near here. I think it's best if you guys stay home when you don't have to go out." Hyungsik tells the carnivores in the family.

"We'll only go to work." Namjoon sighs and looks at the news playing on the tv.

"Guys, don't worry about the super markets closing to carnivores. You can still go to them without having to worry." Jungkook smiles and gently pulls Taehyung into his lap.

"I hate buying things from stores that close to carnivores though." Jimin pouts as he tugs on his ears.

"Mini, they have the things you like. Don't worry about it. As long as you can go in a buy the things you like, it's ok." Yoongi smiles and gently pets his fretting mate.

As the family talks and watches the terrifying news, there is a gentle knock on the door. Taehyung gets up and goes to answer it because there has been news about carnivores having acid poured on them by radical herbivores and omnivores. When he opens the door, he is surprised to see one of the bunny mothers and three of her kits.

"Hi." Taehyung smiles when he sees them.

"Hi there. We uh we saw the news. We just wanted your family to know that there are several of us who are on your side. We baked you some cookies and bought some meat for your carnivore mates." She explains as her kits hold up bags of groceries and fresh baked cookies.

"Thank you." Taehyung sniffles and opens the door for them.

The moment he opens the door, about thirty kits flood into the hallway out of the elevator then into the apartment. The rest of the family stares at all of the kits in shock. Before any of the carnivores can brace themselves, they are tackled by cuddly kits.

"I told you to stay home!" The mother whines when she sees her children hanging off of the bewildered carnivores.

"Iseul! I'm so sorry! They escaped when we weren't watching!" The other mother squeals when she comes running into the apartment and sees the scene in front of her.

"I left four adults at home. You all took your eyes off of them?" Iseul asks in shock.

"The babies were crying." She nervously laughs as she looks at Iseul.

"Hana, where are the others?" She asks when she sees only one of her mates.

"They're uh trying to calm the babies down." Hana responds as she drags three kits off of the stunned feline.

Trying to pull the kits off is like digging in the sand. The moment you pull them off, another four cling to the carnivores.

"It's ok. This is adorable." Taehyung chuckles as he watches Jungkook nervously handle the kits with care.

"We needed this." Jin smiles with teary eyes as Namjoon holds his arms to the side with three kits hanging off of each arm.

Within a few minutes, one of the fathers comes running in.

"They all came?!" He screams when he sees the scene.

"Uh huh." Iseul chuckles as Jungkook tries to set the kits back down on the ground.
