Chapter 6: Snow Leopard

"Jungkook!" Taehyung's screams wake Jin up in a panic.

"Tae! Wake up!" Jin frantically yells as he picks his thrashing brother up.

"SWIM! JUNGKOOK!" Taehyung screams and wakes up in a frantic.

"It's ok. You're ok." Jin soothingly shushes Taehyung as he rocks him in his arms.

"Jungkook." Taehyung cries as the images and feelings from his nightmare flash through his mind.

"It's ok. It was just a nightmare." Jin comforts his crying brother.

"Jungkook was dying." Taehyung quietly tells his hyung after he calms down.

"What happened?"

"I was all of a sudden standing at the lake I took him to before he was taken away for the first time. As I stood there staring at the lake, I heard Jungkook call out to me. All that I wanted to do was play in the water with him again; however, this giant bear hybrid charges at me from the forest. When Jungkook lunges to protect me, I am suddenly standing at the edge of the forest. As I stand there, something tells me to run or else Jungkook will die. So, I began to run as fast as I can. Jungkook begs me to stop, but I keep running. Then out of nowhere, I am back at the lake. When I look into the water, Jungkook is drowning. I reach into the water trying to grab him, but he keeps sinking even though he is swimming towards me." Taehyung tearfully explains.

"It's ok, it was just a nightmare." Jin tells Taehyung; however, doubts swim through Jin's mind. What if it's not a nightmare? I've heard that hybrids who only have one mate have a connection. What if this is that? I heard that they have visions of the other during stressful situations. No, it can't be. Jungkook is ok. He's safe. Stop worrying, Kim Seokjin. With that, Jin snuffs out those worrying thoughts.

"Hobi, will you take extra care of Tae today? He had a nightmare last night." Jin explains to Hoseok when Hoseok gets home from work.

"Damn. He was doing so much better, too. Is he asleep?" Hoseok sadly sighs as he sits down at the kitchen table.

"Yeah, it was a really bad nightmare too. He's sleeping in his bed." Jin answers as he fixes everyone's lunches.

"I called Jimin. He said that he'll be here at around noon."

"Thanks, Hyung. I'll go ahead and go to bed. I'll sleep with Tae to keep him company." Hoseok yawns as he gets up and goes to Tae's room.

Once Hoseok is gone, Jin begins to quietly cry as the thoughts from last night don't leave him alone. Jungkook, please be ok. Please come back to my Taehyung. He misses you so much. I'm so sorry. I don't know what to do to help you.

Hoseok watches Jin cry from the top of the stairs as his mind fills with anger. Fucking government! Why won't you stop destroying innocent people?! Haven't Hyung and Tae suffered enough?!

When Hoseok walks into Tae's room, he sees his beautiful cousin sobbing in his sleep. So, Hoseok carefully crawls onto the bed and wraps Taehyung in his arms then fluffs his tail and covers Taehyung with it. This wraps Taehyung in the calming scent of his family. Soon, Taehyung calms down and snuggles into the safe embrace of his cousin.

Before Jin leaves for work, he walks into Tae's room and pulls the covers over his family. He watches with a tired smile as his little brother and cousin peacefully sleep under the protection of Hoseok's fluffed tail.

After a couple of hours, the doorbell rings and startles the two young foxes.

"It's Jimin. Hyung invited him." Hoseok sleepily yawns and walks to the door.
