chapter 7

"kai, wake up" i heard a voice say while i'm trying to sleep.

"mmmmm" i groaned, "what is it"

i open my eyes and see kyle looking at me, leaning over in my bunk. "you wanna record for a little bit? they have a room we can go in", he asked me.

"for sure, where's billie?" i ask, slowly getting up.

"she's in the bunk above yours, sleeping." he whispers to me.

"alright" i get up and watch kyle walk into a little room, a bit bigger than a closet.

i look over and see billies bunk curtain is a little open, and she's a cute sleeper, snoring just a little bit and cuddling...my hoodie?

"she asked if she could borrow one, i didn't know it was to cuddle with" marissa suddenly appears and whispers in my ear, "she looks so comfortable"

"yea she does," i say with a little smile "you should get some sleep, im gonna go record with kyle."

"i already did sleep for a little bit, but have fun." she says, then walks back in the living room part of the bus.

i look back over and admire how beautiful this human being is. she's so precious.

i then walk into the room that me and kyle are recording in, he has the equipment already set up.

"let's get started" he says, putting on his headset.

i walk over to the mic and put my headphones on with a big smile, i can't wait to sing with billie and release my music.

two long hours after we finished recording, i completed my song.

"kai, that was beautiful. i literally can't even put it into words as to how amazing that was." kyle said, his eyes teary.

"oh cmon kyle, don't make me cry even more." i said, while giving him a side hug. "i'm gonna go check on billie."

i walked out of the room and saw billie out of her bed, wearing my hoodie.

"you know, if you wanted to cuddle with me you could've just woken me up" i said to her, walking up and stopping so we're only two inches apart. "it looks good on you"

she starts blushing hella. "i didn't wanna wake you up baby, and you mind if i wear it for today? it's comfortable as fuck" she asked me, avoiding my eyes.

"yes, love. do you know when we're getting there?" i asked her.

"let's go check with finneas."

we walk out into the living room and there sits finneas with claudia. as soon as claudia sees me, she stands up and comes to give me a hug. "hi kai! it's so nice to meet you, i've heard of many great things about you" she says with a big smile.

"it's a pleasure to meet you claudia." i said with a smile.

"we're gonna be there in about fifteen minutes, so be ready." finneas says.

"alright for sure. i'm gonna go wake up marissa."

i walk over to the bunks and open up her curtain. i then start to push her body around trying to wake her up.

she immediately opens her eyes. "are we there yet?" she asks.

"yes we're fifteen minutes out, sleepyhead." i told her.

"did you finish your song?" she asked me, getting out of her bed.

"yes i did, and it sounds fucking amazing." i reply.

"you finished it? i'm so happy for you kai!" i hear billie say from behind us. she then hugs me from behind, wrapping her arms around my waist, since i'm a little bit taller than her.

"thank you, beautiful. i'll let you listen to it first thing when it's ready." i said, taking her hands and turning around so she can hug me while i'm facing her. i wrap my arms around her neck. "you'll be the first person to hear it, besides me and kyle obviously."

"bet. you guys ready?" she asks, letting me go but still holding onto my waist. my heart starts to pump more aggressively by the way she's holding me.

"y-yeah. we'll be out in the living room in just a minute." i reply nervously.

"alright, baby" i think she's noticing i'm blushing hella because she has a little smirk on your face. she then gives me a quick peck on the cheek. "meet you out there" and she drops her hands from my face and skips out.

i miss the warmth of her touch already.

"dude, can you guys just get together already? it's making me too jealous." marissa says, in an annoyed but joking tone.

"you wish you were me huh?" i said, then start laughing hard.

"actually yes, who wouldn't wanna be with billie eilish?" marissa says, slapping my arm.

"we ain't together marissa, but grab your shit and let's go out there." i give her a quick hug and walk out to where they all are.

finneas and claudia are sitting on a small chair giving eachother kisses, while billie looks at them in disgust. as soon as she sees me in the room, she gives me a soft smile and pats the chair next to her.

"you ready for your show tonight?" i ask, as i sit down next to her. i then spread my arms over the back of the couch.

"hell yea, i wish you could perform with me tonight though." she replies, then puts her head on my shoulder.

"ugh you guys are such lovebirds already" finneas says, him and claudia laughing.

"oh shut up fin, YOU guys are the lovebirds" she says, making a disgust face.

"you already know" finneas says, and he goes back to kissing claudia.

"alright guys, we're here" the bus driver says.
