chapter 16

after the plane landed, we got in the cars to head to the stadium. we have an hour drive, so we were in the backseat relaxing. billie fell asleep on my shoulder.

i plan on asking her if she wants to go out on a date with me, i plan on taking her to dinner, then going to a viewpoint where you can see the city. hopefully she says yes.

the car stops and i wake up billie, i don't see any fans so i went out before security. as soon as i stepped out, a couple girls ran up right into me wanting a picture with me and billie.

"guys i love you, but we just got out of the car, could we get some space?" i ask them politely.

"but we want a picture, where's billie?" one of the girls asks me.

"hey guys, i'll take a picture with you okay? but please don't run into kai again. you know, personal space and shit?" billie says right behind me.

"i'm sorry kai" the girl says.

"it's all good" i give them a smile and let billie take a picture with them, then i let them take one with me, just to not upset them.

we walked inside to our green room and immediately started to select our outfits.

"ooooo i think you would look good in a fitted shirt" billie says, as she holds one up.

"yes. with white or black jeans?" i ask her.

"you and your jeans. you're addicted. but honestly an all white outfit would be dope as shit" she says.

"you know what...i think we should both wear all white" i say, giving her puppy eyes.

"mmmmm....i don't know, it has to have designs on it" she says.

"do that, i'll help you out." i say.

we both start to decide what she should wear when we hear a knock on the door.

"come in" i say.

steve comes in and closes the door behind him.

"what's up steve?" billie asks, standing up.

"hey bil uhm, tonight it's just gonna be you performing. kai will be singing a song of their choice before you perform, but it's just gonna be you tonight." he says.

"what the fuck, why? everyone love it when i perform with them." she says, instantly getting angry.

"we can't have you guys officially convincing the world that you're dating. it just can't happen yet. now i have to go, i have a meeting. sorry." he says, while walking out.

"fucking bitch." she says, she sits down and i notice she starts to tic.

"hey baby, it'll be okay, it's fucked up for sure but it'll be okay. it's YOUR tour, the fans buy tickets to see you, you're a gifted person and they love you" i say, kneeling in front of her.

"yeah, but i want you on my tour, i wish it was a 'billie and kai' tour." she says, she starts to tear up.

"baby that shit would be epic, and we'll be able to perform a lot soon. i don't know if this has anything to do with the situation or not but i'm gonna make sure we're okay" i say.

"well how am i supposed to know you're okay if you're not up there performing with me?" she asks.

i wipe her tears away and tilt her read towards mine so she can look me in my eyes. "don't worry about me baby, i know how to defend myself and others."

"okay, okay." she says. she wipes her tears and stands up, then gives me a big hug.

as soon as we let go, i ask her, "hey so i was wondering, if after the performance tonight that we could go out to eat? and we can go to a viewpoint as well?"

i immediately felt the blush rush to my face.

"god you're so cute, yes" she says, giving me a big kiss.

i'm in the middle of my performance of the encounter since it's my most popular song right now. i've lowkey been in my thoughts about billie but i've been giving the fans everything they want to hear. i looked over at billie and she's smiling at me, ready to go on stage.

i finish up my song and hear the audience go crazy, i love to hear that people love my music.

"god i love you guys, but for the moment that we've all been waiting for, billie eilish!" i yell into the mic.

the fans cheer when billie comes out, she immediately gives me a hug and then bad guy starts to play. i give her a smile and a wink, then jog off stage. as i walk off the stage, all the fans by me start screaming my name.

i get to the side of the stage and watch billie as she sings.

i need to start telling people what's going on, but i don't know who to trust. definitely billie's family though.

i see maggie heading towards me, and i start to walk towards her, when i got stopped.

"where you going? we need to keep an eye on you at all times during shows" one of billies bodyguards ask me.

"oh i just need to talk to maggie privately real quick." i say.

"i'm sorry, i can't let you do that right now." he says.

as soon as i was about to snap back, another body guard interrupted, "hey it's alright man, let them talk"

the bodyguards look at eachother oddly then they both back away.

that was...weird.

i walk up to maggie and say, "hey can we talk in private? bring claudia and patrick. it's urgent. but keep it quiet. no one can know we're meeting up privately." i say to her.

"okay, we'll meet up in our green room." she says, then i follow her to their green room.

maggie called patrick and claudia and they eventually showed up in the room.

"alright make sure to keep this conversation quiet. billie already knows about it but you guys need to hear it too."

they listen to me as i tell them what is going on with steve and Q.

"kai why didn't you tell us any of this before?" claudia asks me.

"i didn't want you guys to get hurt. god knows what he is going after here, maybe it's to get back at billie or something. i got no clue." i said, putting my head down.

"it's okay kai, i get why you didn't tell us. we need to do something about this though, confront steve and fire him." maggie said.

"i think the same thing, but who knows who's all in this group? it may be billies whole team especially the bodyguards who are technically with her all the time. i think we should just act like everything is fine, and hire new bodyguards for sure. just to keep it on the low so that they don't suspect anything." i offer.

"i think the same," patrick said, "we don't want any of us getting hurt, especially billie or kai. we need to keep low and act like everything is okay."

"i'm gonna keep an eye out on everyone, especially steve and see why the hell he has business with Q. i hope to confront him sometime but i heard he might try to recruit more people." i say.

"let's keep it on the low then, i'll tell finneas. kai, you need to be careful." claudia says.

before i said anything else, there was a knock on the door, following steve's voice.

"hey is everything okay in there?" we hear him say.

"yeah we're fine. we're just talking about a surprise for billie that's all." maggie tells steve.

"oh okay, billie is about to sing therefore i am" he says.

"okay." i say, and we all exit the room.

i look at steve and he looks at us all with confusion. i let maggie, patrick, and claudia walk in front of me, and close the door behind me. i feel steve's eyes on me as we walk back to the side of the stage.

this is going to be a nightmare.
