chapter 24

"you know, you really shouldn't be having your body at work right now" billie says.

"well, you need to train. just in case anything happens." i tell her.

it's been a week since the grammys incident. i've healed most of the way, but my body is still kind of recovering. i brought billie to a private martial arts gym with jason. i'm here to train per usual, but i brought billie with so she could learn some moves.

"now cmon, try to tackle me" i said, getting into a wrestling position.

she got into an awkward position, and i instantly went for her legs. for the fun of it, i grabbed the back of her legs and picked her up. she then wrapped her arms around my neck, sort of choking me.

"YOU CHEATER, IMMA GET YOU" she says, kicking her feet in the air.

i then swung her towards the ground, but slowly placing her on the mat. as i start to let her go, she wraps her legs around my waist.

"woooow, i could put you in a chokehold right now." i told her, hovering my face over hers.

"it wouldn't be the first, would it?" she asks me, licking her lips.

"nope, and surely won't be the last" i say, looking at her lips.

i started thinking about her touch and lips, getting way too distracted.

i then snap out of it and unwrap her legs from my hips.

"cmon, im gonna show you how to do the bags" i tell her, holding out my hand so i can help her get up.

"even when my life feels like it's falling apart, you piece it together" me and billie sang in sync.

"YES. i love it so much" finneas said, clapping.

"your guys' voices go so well together" kyle said.

we are all on a bus towards coachella, which billie is not so excited about, but she's excited because me and her get to perform together.

"bro i can't wait till we make more songs together. even if we don't have to release them." i tell her.

"same, i love it" she says.

we set down our guitars and i get up. "i'm gonna go get something to eat and chill for a bit" i said.

"alright, i'm gonna talk to finneas real quick" she says.

"okay, kyle come with me real quick" i said.

"yes sir." he says.

i walk to the fridge and grab some fruit to cut up, then i said, "so is there some extra security tonight?" i ask him.

"yes. cody is coming back" he says.

"bro are you for real? i've missed him so much" i said.

"yup, he'll be here later tonight before the show. i have to go call someone real quick, so i'll be right back" he said, as he walks away.

as i finish grabbing my fruit, i grab my phone and go on instagram. recently i've had a lot of celebrities following me. for instance, ariana grande, doja cat, rihanna, even beyoncé. i checked my profile and have had such an increase in followers. i now have 25.7 million following me. i had the urge to start a livestream, and did.

i set my phone down as it started and people came in.

"hey my lovely's, how are you guys?" i ask into the phone.

i saw a bunch of people asking me about the grammys incident, and now i'm finally going to speak on it.

"well guys, the grammys could've obviously gone a lot better. i don't know who shot me but hopefully we find out. but i'm doing a lot better, im really glad that nobody died, because that was a huge explosion. i hope that everyone is okay." i say.

i look down and see a bunch of the same question, consisting about me and billie. i don't think billie wants to come out and say we are just yet, but i'll have to talk to her about it.

"hellooooooo" i heard billie say in a funny voice, as she's walking into the room.

"hellooooo" i reply, mocking her voice. "i'm on live, say hi" i point to the screen.

"hi guyssss" billie says. "i love you a-" she starts, before she cuts herself off.

i look over at her and she asks, "who's this?" to me.

i look over and realize and unknown number is calling me. my heart drops and realize it's either a random person calling me, or it's brandon.

"probably just some random number," i say, because we are still on live. i decline the call. "i've been getting a lot of those, anyways guys, i'll see some of you at coachella. i gotta get going. i love you all!" i say to the people on live.

i ended it then looked at billie. "it's brandon i think" i told her.

"i feel like you should've answered" billie said.

"i know baby but i really don't feel like talking to him. he could've been the one that shot me" i said. i began to grow irritated and leaned up against the counter.

"hey," she said, she wrapped her hands around the back on my back and face, and stepped between my legs, "we'll get away from this at some point baby. but me and you are gonna go through this together. he's not gonna do anything more to you." she said.

"i hope not. i love you billie" i said, looking deeply into her eyes.

"i love you, kai. you're the best thing that's ever happened in my life. i love you for you, kai," she kisses me softly, then pulls back, "and maybe a little bit because you're famous now" she said, laughing.

"that's like 85% of the reason i'm dating you" i said, joking with her.

"yeahhhh, whateverrrr" she says.

she continues to laugh and i just look at her and smile. i love her laugh, it's the most adorable thing in the world.

"you know, i really love your smile and your laugh, it looks so good on you" i tell her.

"ugh you're making me blush. i think everything about you looks good on you" she says.

we share a deep kiss before finneas walks in, "man why do i keep walking in when you guys kiss"

we both pull away and billie says, "that's a very good question, fin. it's like you know when we're kissing." she turns back towards me, "do you wanna makeout?" she asks me, clearly letting finneas hear.

"ew no, get away." i said, trying to sound serious.

i walk away and turn back around to billie with her jaw dropped. she then grabs a strawberry from my fruit bowl and chucks it at me.

"hey, that's my food!" i say, running back towards my bowl.

me and billie start to play fight until the driver speaks up, "hey guys, we're almost there. eta 5 minutes."
