chapter 11

me and billie have been around eachother nonstop since we got back to the hotel last night. marissa has been with claudia and finneas, im assuming that they're besties now. currently, we're in the green room at an area in nebraska, for billies next show.

billie is currently on instagram live and i'm fixing my outfit to wear on stage when i perform lovely with billie, which i'll be singing khalid's part of the song.

"who's that in the back? it's my friend kai, kai come here, cutie" billie said.

i walk over to where billie is and i glance at her, and she's checking out my outfit. "what's up mother fuckers" i say.

"shit you look about good as hell" billie said. "give me a twirl i wanna see every part of it"

i then spin in a full circle and land my eyes back on billie, who's biting her lip and looking at my gucci belt.

"like what u see?" i ask, smirking.

"hell yea"

i then walk back to her phone, and she completely forgot she was on live because she shot back immediately. i look at some of the comments and chuckle at them.

"kai is so hot omg"

"the way billie looks at them though"

"this shit makes me feel so single"

"well i gotta get ready for my show guys, i love you all so much" billie said, then ending the live. she turns her body towards me while she's sitting in the chair. "you look so fine"

"that's all you baby." i reply, turning my face away a little bit because i was blushing hard.

i return my eyes back to hers, which are looking into mine. she got up without breaking eye contact with me and put her hands on each side of my face.

"you have the most beautiful ocean eyes. they're like literally the exact color of the ocean" she says, giving me a soft smile.

"th-that's one of the nicest compliments i received. thank you. yours are the color of the shore, and it's truly admiring to look at them" i reply.

her face then gets serious. she starts to slowly lean in and all of a sudden, someone knocks on the door, and she pulls away.

fuck.

"y'all ready?" i hear steve say from the outside.

"yea we are" billie shouted back. she then returned her look towards me. "you ready for this?"

i start to tap my fingers against eachother, anxiously. "yea, just a bit nervous that's all"

"you'll do good, you got this" she then gives me a hug, and i return it.

"i'll meet you out there, i just have to call kyle real quick." i said when i let go.

"okay, i'll see you soon" she says, then she walked out the door.

fuck i wish we didn't get interrupted.

i picked my phone out of my pocket and dialed kyle. he answered on the fourth ring.

"you can release it now" i said.

"yes sir, as of right now it'll be available on apple music, spotify, and youtube." he said in an exciting tone.

"you sure you think it's good, kyle?" i said.

"kai, everyone will love it. i promise"

"alright. i'll see you soon"

i hung up and walked out of the green room, walking towards the stage, trying not to have a panic attack.

the song before i come out is halfway through, and i'm in the backstage with one of the crew members. he's attaching an earpiece in me and gave me a microphone.

"finneas knows your plans for the show, everyone knows except billie of course, have a blast out there kid" he said, giving me a pat on the back.

this is gonna hopefully be the best night of my life.

billie finished her song and walked towards the back of the stage, "alright guys, so i have a surprise for you. tonight i'm having a special guest, who's a fan of mine and loves to sing for a living, and we're about to perform lovely, and they're taking khalid's part."

i close my eyes and take a deep breath in and out. i heard the fans start to go crazy.

"everyone, meet kai!" billie says, then looking over at me from the back, middle part of the stage.

i then jog out on stage and fans start to go absolutely insane. i've never heard a louder crowd. as i reached billie, i hooked my arm around her neck.

"how you feeling kai?" billie asked in her microphone.

"shit i'm feeling good, how y'all doing tonight?" i said to billie, then asked the crowd. they reply with very loud screams and shouts.

the song starts to play and the lights turn blue, me and billie looked eachother the same time.

billie starts to sing her part. and i sing khalid's part in the background. right as my first part hits, fans start to scream, and billie looks at me in awe.

keep it cool kai, keep it cool.

"so i guess i gotta stay now," billie sings, now i join in.

"oh i hope someday, i'll make it out of here. even if it takes all night or a hundred years" we both sing, and i look at the crowd, who's looking at us with their jaws dropped, and quiet. i guess me and billie really sound good together.

"hello, welcome home." me and billie sing the last part together. as the song ends, me and billie look at eachother, and i think i just fell in love with her. we both face eachother as we hear the crowd being the loudest thing in the whole world, applauding us.

"kai has the voice of an angel guys holy shit" finneas said, breaking me and billies stare.

"could i have y'all's attention please?" i ask over the microphone. and it took a couple seconds for the crowd to relax.

"I LOVE YOU KAI!" i hear a fan say.

"i love you more. but i have an announcement to make," i glance and billie and she lowkey looks confused, "so as you guys know, i sing for a living but i haven't released any music. but actually, right as billie was about to head on stage, me and my producer released my album i've been working on, called Time Fliez with a z." i said. after i finished, the crowd started cheering loudly.

"no fucking way! are you serious?" billie asks me.

"suprise, and i have a song to perform." i said, i run over to the middle of the stage, and meet with a crew member who brought out a guitar and a chair for me and billie. i thanked him and sat down.

hopefully i can play even though my hands are literally destroyed.

the crowd starts to die down a little bit and billie runs up, moving the chair closer to me, then sitting down. she looked at me in awe.

i set my mic on the stand and leveled it to my mouth. "this song is called the encounter"
