chapter 1

"ugh, can we start all over again?" i ask kyle, my record producer.

"kai, you need to stop overthinking. it'll come out good i promise. you're voice is so angelic" he tells me.

i'm currently trying to release a song to the public because i have been wanting to for some time now. it's been my dream to release a song.

"what if people don't like it? people are so picky with music nowadays." i tell him.

"they'll love it. i've never heard such an angelic voice in the studio before. seriously kai, you got this. let's take ten so you can calm down a little bit."

"alright, i guess. send marissa in for me, could you?"

"you got it." he says as he walks out the door.

about two minutes later, marissa who is my 13 year old sister, walks in, jumping up and down excitedly.

"kai! guess who's coming to chicago for their tour!!" she yells in my face.

"oh my lord, who?" i ask her, while shoving her out of my face.

"billie eilish! you need to go! OH and bring me with, duh!"

oh my god. how i have been dreaming for a moment like this. ever since i was 14 i have been obsessed with her music and her voice. it's been four years and she's eventually led up to my idol and celebrity crush.

"kai? stop having a simp moment and say we're going right now!" marissa shoved her phone in my chest.

i look down and see that she has two ground floor tickets already there for me to pay for them. i just recently got a lot of money for my 18th birthday so i should get the tickets.

"hell fucking yeah! it looks like it's in two weeks too" i tell melissa while pulling out my wallet.

"i know!"

i put in my card information and bought the tickets.

this is actually happening.

i get to see billie eilish for the first time.

after i gave my phone back to marissa, kyle comes in the room with a big smile on his face.

"sorry for intruding, but kai, we should get back to working on your song" he says.

"alright yeah, marissa meet me back at my place, if mom will let you. i love you." i tell marissa, grabbing my headset and sitting on the stool.

"i hope, love you too." she closes the door behind her.

"alright let's start from the top" kyle tells me.

three hours later, i walk out of the studio and to my jeep wrangler. i jump in the car and start it.

as i cruise down the road of downtown chicago, i look up at a billboard and see billie with the date next to her, for her upcoming concert here.

i smile as i look back ahead, i really can't believe i'm about to see billie eilish for the first time. i've been dreaming for this moment for such a long time.

i pull into my apartment parking lot and hop out of my car. i walk up to my apartment door and open it.

i hear a noise in my kitchen and when i walk in there, i see my mom and marissa.

"hey guys." i say while dropping my keys on the counter.

"hey sweetie" my mom says. "i heard the big news, a billie eilish concert? you're really going?"

"uh yeah? i've been dreaming of this moment for a while" i say to her while looking at marissa, who nods in agreement.

"i just don't want you to get hurt or anything like that, especially your sister"

"mom, it's fine. they're good at keeping me safe" marissa says to her.

"she's only 18, melissa. she's still a kid" she tells marissa.

"mom i go by they/them pronouns. how many times do i have to tell you that?" i tell her.

"those pronouns don't even exist"

"mom are you serious right now?" marissa asks her, standing up from her chair.

"mom, please don't. if you're gonna be like that please just leave." i tell my mom

"okay. marissa is coming with me tho" she tells us both.

"oh hell no. not when you're being disrespectful to your own child" marissa tells her.

"i'm still in charge of what you do. let's go"

my mom walks out the door and while marissa follows, i stop and give her a big hug, with my arms wrapped around her neck.

"you know i really appreciate you and would do anything to keep you here, right?" i whisper in her ear.

"i know. i love you so much, kai. i'm sorry" she whispers back, while rubbing my back.

"i love you."

i let her go and look at her watery eyes with a smile. she walks out the door and closes it.

this is my first story so i'm trying🙄
