Jacks wish pt2

I stared at my father and finn and Arthur quickly came closer to the door

"Didn't know you were back" I said with very little emotion on my face

"It's only temporary I'm afraid. Just until I have things sorted out. I was going to find you and ask for a favour actually" he said

"Don't you dare" Arthur said

"Come on now son-"

"No more favours. No money. No protection. No bond. Nothing" Arthur continued making it plain to our dim witted father

"I understand son. What was it you needed?" He asked

"Rose. My son is friends with her. Says there's something wrong at home. Now I know what he meant. You're her father so what ya been doing? Beating her? Leaving her and then showing up? Letting her clean up your drunk mess?" I asked as my fists clenched in rage. Before he could reply, we heard Rose scream. Me, Arthur and Finn barged past our so called father and followed the scream into a kitchen where we saw a sobbing Rose with 2 men standing over her. One man was laughing and the other had his hand raised ready to hit her. Arthur and myself quickly started punching the men as finn grabbed our little sister

Finn pov

As Arthur and John beat the men, I looked over to see rose. She was crying with her hands covering her head and her knees up to her chest to make herself as small as possible. I quickly picked her up onto my hip and ran out of the house with her

"That's my daughter" I heard my father say as John and Arthur joined me outside

"She had bruised all over her hand and one on her face. She may be your daughter but she is also your fucking punch bag by the looks of it" I said as I examined roses caned hands and the fading bruise that was on the side or her head, previously covered by her long hair. She had stopped crying now and was just sniffing back the tears as we walked away from our father but not before Arthur had punched him in the face.

We realised we were late to the family meeting but rose was more important right now. We sat her down on a bench so we could talk to her

"Hi rose. I'm Arthur. These are my brothers John and finn" Arthur introduced

"Alfie spoke of you sometimes. You have another brother called Tommy?" She said

"Ye we do. Do you know who we are?" John asked

"You're my brothers. We have the same father. Alfie informed me. What is going to happen now?" She asked with tears in her eyes

"Well love, we aren't sure on the details just yet. But we want to introduce you to some more family. And then you can stay with one of us and get to know us more. You won't be seeing your dad again unless you want to" I told her

"I'm quite happy with not seeing him again thank you. I didn't like him very much anyway. I went boarding school so I don't even know him that well" she admitted as a tear rolled down her face. I quickly wiped it away and held my hand out for her to take. She took it and we began to walk to the garrison where we were having the meeting. We were only 10 minutes late so not as bad as I thought. John and Arthur walked in first and Rose hid behind me from shyness

"You're late" Tommy said

"Ye well we have reasons" John said as he sat down and grabbed a bottle of whiskey

"Such as?" Polky asked. I moved my hand that was holding roses and slowly moved her infront for everyone else to see her better

"This is Rose. She's gonna be staying with us for a while" Arthur said happily as he handed me some whiskey.

"Hi darling. Why don't we get you a drink" ada said eyeing myself as she took roses hand and lead her away so she could find some milk for her or something like that. It was clearly so we could have a talk

"What the fuck have you done now ay?" Tommy asked as he sat down awaiting our story

"Jack told me there was a girl in his class. And he wanted to invite her for Christmas because something bad is happening at home. I went to ask the girls parents and low and behold, it was our father" he said. Everyone's eyes went wild as John explained what happened. He waited for everyone to take it all in before Arthur continued

"We heard her scream and when we barged in, 2 men were about to hit her. She already had a few old bruises. Cane marks on her hands that we are all too familiar with from our father. So I punched him and threatened him. We took rose so she is safe" he said before taking another swig of whiskey. We didn't have time to discuss what would happen now as rose and Ada walked back in, rose with a glass of milk in her hand

"Rose, I'm Tommy shelby, your brother. This is aunt pol. Her son Michael. And our sister Ada" he said motioning to everyone.

"Sister?" Ada said shocked. Oh ye. She wouldn't have heard

"I'll catch you up later" Arthur grumbled to her.

"You seem very nice Mr shelby. However Alfie informed me that you couldn't be trusted. He said there was a mine in your head that sometimes went off and people would get hurt every time" she said looking at Tommy

"We won't hurt you love. We promise" Tommy told her

"And is this Alfie Solomon you are on about?" Polly asked

"Yes mam. He is very kind to me however he is also the reason we had to leave. He treated me well but never liked my father. Alfie was protective and my father isn't the nicest man. So Alfie ended up threatening my father and so we ran away. Although I'm positive Alfie would never hurt me so I wasn't too sure why I had to accompany my father" she explained

"I'm glad he was good to ya love" ada said

"I have been thinking, and if everyone else and you are alright with it, finn is going to adopt you and I will buy the pair of you a nice big house. However you will still be our sister not our niece" Tommy said causing me to spit my drink out

"Me?" I yelled shocked. I could hardly look after myself never mind another being

"I'd your name finn?" He asked

"Er...ye" I said unsure if it was a trick question

"Then yes you" he finished.

"Tommy, I cant look after a kid!" I protested.

"Is this is best idea Tom?" Arthur asked unsure. As was I

"Rose? What do you think?" Tommy asked turning towards our youngest sister

"Well I'm not fussy over where I end up. I spend most my time at boarding school in London and i live with Alfie some weekends so you would hardly see me. I don't want to be a burden" she said turning to face me

"You're not a burden love. I was just shocked is all" I said

"Do you enjoy boarding school?" Michael asked

"To be truthful, not entirely. It is a finishing school so we learn how to be proper ladies. Although I tend to get in trouble for not knowing when to be quiet and saying the wrong things. Its just not a very fun place to be" she admitted

"Then no more boarding school. You like the local school that Jack goes?" Polly asked her

"I love it there. It is alot more relaxed and I learn things I actually enjoy. And the breaks we are allowed to run. Running was forbidden at boarding school because it wasn't lady like" she said.

"So, you live with finn. You go the local school. And if you like, you can still spend every other weekend at Alfie Solomons" Tommy explained. Rose had a huge smile on her face.

"Thank you" she said as she hugged Tommy
