Unlike my twin brother, I actually enjoy school. Finn hasn't been in years. Turns up at lunch time every now and then but only to flirt with the girls. Well I was sitting in the classroom with my friends talking about the dance. We had just been told that there would be a school dance. But not any dance. A daddy daughter dance. That was fine for some. But not me and not my best friend cassy

"They just don't get it cass" i comforted her as she cried in my arms. Cassy's dad died at war when she was younger and mine wasn't around anymore. So none of us were very excited for the dance. I knew John would be going but he has his own daughters to dance with. He doesn't need me getting in the way.

We walked outside and saw Arthur stood outside next to his car. Parents were trying to avoid eye contact but failing miserably. Me and cassy shared a look before walking to my brother with our arms linked together

"Come on then girls. I'm too handsome for some of the women here" he said as we got in the car. Neither of us said a word until Arthur spoke up

"What's wrong with you 2? Something going on?" He asked

"We're fine" we said together before going back to silence. Arthur stopped the car outside cassy's house and she got out

"By love" Arthur said before driving off. We drove down the street before getting to the garrison. Arthur owned it and since it was Friday, it would be busy. We got out and I ran into the pub with Arthur walking behind. When I got in, i immediately went to the phone not greeting anyone on the way

R: Have you spoken to ya mam yet?
C: I told her about the dance but she just cried

"Rose, get off the phone and talk to us" I heard Tommy yell

Then I hung up and walked to the table where my 2 oldest brothers sat

"So what was that about ay? Heard something about a dance" Arthur said

"Oh ye. Erm, the younger girls are having a daddy daughter dance but our year is getting one and we're just pissed off" I lied straight through my teeth. But I didn't want them to feel bad or accidently hurt me. Cassy and I said I would ask Tommy and Arthur to take us both to the dance.
