The winding road
took me to you
past rocks so giant
Trees all green
And moisture upon the evergreen
the butterfly flew
drumming followed
and in your arms
familiar sounds
a beat,
a heart
Beside my ear
placed upon your breast, my dear
It roared
Like the oceans past on the way
a wave
a wave
no chance of drowning
not when im with you my darling
you
a life raft
a hand
a breath or two
heart beats anew when I'm with you
the bird flew
home to roost
to roost
to nest
to rest
all seems well with you my dear when my head is placed upon your breast.
the winding road will take me back, soon
to where my child is waiting
but when she's grown I promise thee
I will not keep you waiting.
so you should keep thy nest
but wait no more for me
live a life to be proud of
And if you permit
One day
I will keep you company.

***

You remind me of a garden rose
I plucked this very night
From my secret garden
A velvety delight
It smells of dew and apricot
a heavenly scent as thee
and I did shed a tear
because I fear
I will not visit your garden
your home or your sanctuary
but I wish to come to thee
And revel in all of your finery
You beautiful garden rose.

***
I'm jealous of the mirror
He sees you every day
I want to see you
As he
In a very intimate way
to see your eyes light up
when a day has been good
and to hold your gaze up
when melancholy has you feeling,
Misunderstood
I am jealous of the blade of grass
That tickles your ankle as you pass
I want to feel your skin
to caress it
to ask
Are you ever jealous
Of a silly blade of grass

***
I miss you!!
