Julius leads her to her room, one suitcase rolling behind her and two rolling behind him.
Down at the end of the hall was where they stopped. The polished white door opened without a single creak, the suitcases were trailing loudly along the floorboards and the darkened room lightened up with the single tap of his finger.
When her eyes adjusted to the light, it was as if she was seeing the world for the first time. Her eyes flashed brightly throughout the spacious room, which was arranged exclusively for her, with white curtains drawn behind sealed glass windows and marble tiles at her feet.
There was a large walk-in closet on her other side of the room, as well as a bathroom on the opposite side.
"Had the room done for you," He shrugged as if the flawlessly made room hadn't been perfected for the preceding few days.
Her eyes were drawn to him, and a genuine smile appeared on her lips; every detail of the room had surprised her and made her smile with happiness. Her favourite part of the room was the intricate ceiling above her.
"I love it, Juls." She took a step forward into the room, her gaze falling on the high, plush king-sized bed in the centre.
Her bed was covered in a white duvet with yellow and white daisies, and there were various pillows and throw blankets on the chair next to her bed.
"Trace picked it all out for you, I did some," He massaged the side of his jaw before taking the luggage from her grip and placing it next to the others on the floor.
With a smile, she touched the bed delicately with her hand, smoothing over the fabric before her entire body flopped down onto it.
She giggles, the sound filling the room's silence.
"Get over here, Juls," She says, spreading her body like a starfish, even though it only fills half the bed.
She felt the bed slowly sink alongside her. She lay limp, staring up at the ceiling, as his broad, dark form filled the other side.
Impossibly, her feelings for him became deeper, to the point that she knew a word beginning with L would tumble out of her mouth any day now.
Tonight showed her that much.
"You're perfect, Juls. Thank you for this."
When he didn't respond, she saw that his eyes were closed. Though she knew he wasn't asleep, it just seemed like he was.
Each breath had his chest covered in black, rising and lowering every few seconds. And as if feeling her gaze burning into him like she was, he reopened his eyes and found hers.
