Chapter 9

~Amber~

While we were going to the mall I almost cried. Austin was going to save me today. Suddenly the car lurched to a stop and James pulled me out of the car and towards the last building I will ever have to with him in. I went to forever 21 and got some new shirts and pants. Then James pulled me into the unisex bathroom where an unimpressed looking Austin was waiting. James stopped trying to kiss me, when he looked up and saw Austin. "You should not have let her talk on the phone to me silly boy" Austin said. He pulled me away from James and behind him. I fisted his shirt in my hands and cried into it. He moved towards James and dragged him outside. He motioned for me to follow him out and I did being used to being told what to do. He handed me the keys and said "go wait in the car and if Josh or anyone tries to grab you there is a knife in the glovebox." I nodded and ran to his car. I melted into the seat and locked the door. Just to be safe I grabbed the knife out of the glovebox and held it tightly. I could see Austin dragging James away by his shirt collar.

~Austin~

I pulled him away as soon as I saw Amber get in the car. I dragged James into a dark allyway where I knew nobody would be. "What did you do too her!" I yelled as I slammed him into the wall. He looked shocked but didn't say anything. "What did you do!" I practically screamed. He flinched back. "I-I hit her..." I slamed him into the wall again. "What else did you do you little worthless Peice of shit" I spat. "I-I r-raped her" he said flinching on the last word. "Thats what I thought, She's only six FUCKING teen" I said slaming his face with my fist. I then kneed him in the gut, and when he fell over I kicked him in the head several times. I then threw him into a dumpster and locked it. I wasn't sure if he was still alive or not but I still locked him in just in case. I ran back to my car to see Amber clutching the knife to her chest. I slid in, and she flinched back. "Its okay Amber I'm not going to hurt you" I said gently. She started crying and I hugged her too me but she pulled away. I decided to just take us home.

~Amber~

I opened my eyes to find myself tightly tucked into Austins bed. He must've carried me in. I let out a small whimper when the door opened expecting to see James, but instead I saw Austin carrying a plate of pancakes. I smiled and gladly took the plate of food. I had only eaten like four times in two weeks. I scarfed down the pancakes when I suddenly felt an arm slide around my shoulders. I screamed and curled into a ball. "Amber..? What whats wrong sh" I sobbed in a ball under the blankets while a hand kept trying to rub my back. I pushed it away everytime. I just cried until the person left.

~Austin~

Why did she push me away? I kept wonderiing until I heard small whimpers coming from my room and I opened the door to see Amber crying in her sleep. I just didn't know what to do, so I sat against the wall and stared at the broken girl crying in my bed. I just wanted to cuddle her.
