Chapter 2

CHAPTER TWO

I leaned into Austin's chest while he hugged me into him. I could have stayed like that forever but he said I needed to go to the hospital.

We got there and the doctors said I needed to stay overnight because my rib was broken and I might have a concussion.

"Amber what should I tell your parents?" Austin asked. I said to make something up. Then the doctors drugged me up and I fell asleep. When I woke up my mom was holding my hand, Austin was sitting by the window and my dad was sitting by my feet.

"Amber!" My mom exclaimed and got teary eyed. I looked at Austin asking with my eyes what he said.

He nodded and then said "That was a really bad fall you had on the stairs Amber." I nodded.

"Yeah it hurt" I agreed. My mom kept asking if I was okay and I said yes every time. I had a small dinner of soup, water, and jello.

Then my dad said "Amber your mom and I are going to go have dinner okay?"

"Okay daddy" I said glad that Austin and I could be alone.

After they left Austin slowly walked over to me and stroked my hair.

"How are you feeling beautiful?" He asked.

"Better now" I said trying to sit up. I cringed because of my broken rib. Austin saw me flinch and helped adjust my bed so I was sitting sort of.

"Did you just say I fell backwards going down the stairs?" Austin nodded. I moved over to the side of my bed hospital bed and Austin awkwardly laid down beside me.

I giggled "You're not going to hurt me babe" I said. I saw him relax a little bit. I loved just laying there cuddling like this but then Austin said my parents would be back soon. My dad doesn't like it when he sees us kissing or cuddling so Austin got up, and sat in his chair again. My mom and dad got back from dinner pretty late. I was asleep when they got back.

"Mom?" I said.

"Yes?" my mom said coming over to sit by me.

"Where's Austin?" I said.

"He had to go he will be back soon but we have to go home the hospital said you will stay here over night." I nodded. I fell asleep again after they left around nine.

When I woke up Austin was back again. He was looking at me.

"Come here babe" I said holding my arms out. He came over to me and I put my head on his chest.

"Amber?" He asked rubbing the back of my head with his free hand.

"Yeah?" I replied.

"I love you" he said. I rolled over and smiled. He kissed me and I didn't want him to stop. When he kisses me I just melt. His lips are like silk. He had become the most important thing in my life since we started dating a few weeks ago. I moved closer to Austin while he was kissing me and the he stopped.

"What is it babe?" I asked

"You can't be doing that or your going to hurt your rib more" I frowned at him but he just laughed. I put my head on his shoulder and fell asleep. In the morning the nurses woke me up and took my temperature. Austin sat up after they left and rubbed his eyes.

I said "Babe we're leaving soon" he nodded and kissed my forehead. My parents came in and drove me home.

When we drove by James's house I avoided looking at it. I don't even think Austin knows what really happened.

When we got home I wanted to flop down in my bed but I had to text Jen.

Jen is my best friend and when I checked my cell there were like twenty texts from her. I assumed Austin told her I was in the hospital.

I texted her and told her I was home. She replied almost instantly asking if I was okay and stuff. I said yes and then she asked if she could come over. I asked my mom and she said sure.

About twenty minutes later Jen was at my house she doesn't even knock anymore she just walks in. I hugged her and she sheepishly hugged me.

"It's okay Jen it's not that sore." I smiled. She asked me what happened I didn't know what to say. I texted Austin and he said tell her the truth. I told her everything from when James said he wanted me back and to when I was lying in the hospital with Austin. She smiled about the Austin part. She thought that we were really cute together. Jen was going to spend the night so we got our beds set up in the living room. She said that we should go get Austin to stay over too because of James. I thought about it, my parents were going out tonight too.

"Okay" I said to Jen. I called Austin and he picked up on the first ring.

"Hey babe" he said.

"Hey wanna come over tonight me and Jen are going to watch movies."

"Yeah sure, be over in a bit" he said we said goodbye and I smiled at Jen.

"He's coming over" She giggled I knew she just wanted to see if we would kiss this time. Last time she dared us but we couldn't right there it was so awkward we had just started dating. When Austin got to my house he hugged me and then Jen.

"Nice to see you Jen" Austin said.

"You too it's been forever and thanks for watching out for Amber" Jen said, Austin winked. We started talking about Christmas and then Austin asked me what I wanted while we walked to the kitchen. I thought about for a minute.

"All I want for Christmas is you" I sang. Jen giggled and Austin smiled. He grabbed my waist and kissed me. I looked over at Jen and winked.

She went to go pick out something to watch, leaving us all alone. I hooked my arms around Austin's neck and let him continue kissing me. It started out slow but it slowly started getting more and more passionate. Austin picked me up and set me down on the counter. After about ten minutes Jen called out

"You two gunna come watch the movie or keep sucking each others faces?" I blushed when Austin pulled back.

"We're coming" I called giggling. Austin and I walked into the living room holding hands. I felt my face get hot when Jen made a gesture to fix my lipstick. She smiled and laughed saying she was only kidding. Jen decided to watch 'crazy, stupid, love' I already watched it but I didn't mind. Austin put his arm around me while we watched the movie.
