Sleepover

I pulled my legs back out of shock and fluttered my eyes open. John detached his lips from mine and whispered, “It’s okay (Yn),” he said soothingly, “You can still say no.”
“I – I don’t know,” I whispered back, sitting up so I could see Edward too, “I… I—”
“It’s alright,” Edward said softly and retrieved my pants from the floor, “We understand.”
“I’m sorry,” I bit on my lip.
“Why are you apologizing?” Edward furrowed his brows and shifted back into his seat while I put my pants back on, “You’ve done nothing wrong. We should be saying sorry for scaring you.”
“I don’t even know what I want anymore,” I admitted after a beat of silence, “It’s all so messed up…”
“Well for us, we just know that we want you,” John said, “But also we want you as a friend… Or maybe more, I mean it’s really a strange feeling but we want you in both senses – friend and, you know – but we also want you to be more…”
“Girlfriend?” I suggested as I saw him struggling with words.
“But we don’t do that sort of thing,” Edward said quietly.
“Open your heart,” I said softly, “And you’ll find the one eventually. You’ll both find the one that will change you entirely in a positive way. I guess I can just be your friend…”
“No!” John said, “But you are that person! For both of us,”
“We always share,” Edward added, “And maybe you’re right, we can do the girlfriend thing… With you.”
“But that’s just wrong!”
“Can’t we be like friends but we do more than friends normally do?” Edward asked, “We’ve not done something before, as those girls were no more than strangers… But it’s different with you… We really like you, as a person!”
It was really sweet of them to like me that much as a friend, but I knew they also wanted more, which was simply wrong, “I don’t know,” I said, “I—”
“Who were you joking, (Yn)?” the voice in my head sneered at me, “You want it, even though you shouldn’t.”
“Okay,” I gave in eventually and said honestly, “I want you two. I love you two as friends but I want you two in that sense too. Even though it’s wrong.”
I looked up at them to see them grinning at me.
“What?”
“You admitted it,” John said, his grin getting bigger.
I guessed I had a hopeless crush on them, no matter how wrong it might turn out. It was a fact.
“So… What do we do now?” I asked, “I just don’t know anymore.”
“Why don’t we just see how things go?” Edward suggested, “You might just agree to being more one day.”
I fell silent. I did not know. But I guessed this was the only way left now. I could not possibly quit; I had promised myself that I would try my best to help them walk out of the darkness and I was too attached to them to quit being their friends. And I did not want to hurt them.
“Okay,” I agreed at last, “Still friends?”
“Yeah, definitely,” they winked at me.

I stretched, trying to fight against the sunlight that was blinding my eyes. Eventually my eyes won the battle and I glanced around me.
The curtains in the room were open, I was lying on a mattress, and next to me were two other mattresses so I was on the one in the middle. Pillows and blankets were all over the two empty mattresses, and the memory of last night rushed back into my head.
After that incident with John and Edward in the theater, we continued watching the movie and… I guessed I eventually fell asleep. But how did I even manage it, as the movie was so intense and there was a fight scene in the end? I did not even know. But looked like they carried me in here.
It was a huge bedroom with two beds, closets and desks and regular stuff you saw in a bedroom, and they were located in opposite sides of the room so each side mirrored the other. There was also a TV in the room and a door that looked like it led to a bathroom, which I could easily see from my location. The three mattresses were on the floor, occupying the gap between the two beds. This must be the bedroom of the twins.
I sat up and sighed. This room SO much bigger than my own bedroom.
Suddenly, the door which was not the bathroom door opened and a blond head peeked around. It was Edward.
“Hey! (Yn) you’re awake!” his eyes lit up when he saw me sitting there, a totally messed up person probably as I had just woken up. I smiled back and tidied my hair a little and he ran into the room with a grinning John following.
Without warning, Edward jumped onto me and we both crashed onto the mattress. I heard John laugh and Edward started to tickle me, sitting on my belly.
“No Edward!” I screamed, “Stop!”
“Nope,” he grinned cheekily, “I finally know why John didn’t stop last night; it’s so fun seeing you writhe around like that!”
“Jeez Edward!” John laughed even harder, “Now you’re saying that!”
“Come on John!” I yelled, “Help me!”
“Alright,” he giggled, and crashed into Edward, pushing him away from me.
“How could you John!” Edward protested as John sat up, “I’m your twin! You should help me with tickling her!”
“No way John is doing that!” I sat up and launched myself at Edward, sitting on him.
“Revenge time!” I said in triumph, and started tickling Edward, making him squeal and yell.
“Oh God!” he shouted, “John! Get her off me!”
John was in a fit of laughter beside us, but listened to his brother anyway and grabbed me from behind, lifting me up with his arms around my waist.
“JOHN!” I screamed and laughed, “Put me down!”
“No John, don’t!” Edward jumped up and stood in front of us as John held me in his arms, “You’ve been naughty Miss (your last name)…” he grinned, his eyes twinkling.
“Don’t you dar—” I could not even finish my sentence as Edward started tickling me and I could not escape since John was holding me!
“Okay okay, I’m sorry!” I gasped as I could not take it anymore; I was running out of air!
“That’s more like it,” Edward laughed as John chuckled. Edward backed away, and John released me.
I exhaled and crashed onto the mattress again, looking up at the ceiling. The twins fell onto their back on either side of me.
“So,” I began, still breathing heavily from the tickling battle, “What happened after I fell asleep last night? Did you carry me in here?”
“Yep,” John said, “I don’t get it! How could you fall asleep watching a fight scene?”
“I don’t know too,” I admitted and gave a little laugh, “And you two slept next to me?” I gestured to the two mattresses.
“Yeah,” Edward answered, “You’re the first girl that’s stepped into this room besides Elsie, you know. And we’ve never slept with a girl before besides our mum.”
“Really?” I was surprised… How about those girls?
“Because we don’t do it here,” Edward replied to my unasked question quietly, “And we just don’t.”
“Oh,” that was new.
We fell into silence, and then suddenly my stomach rumbled audibly.
The twins laughed, “Come on, we’ll go have breakfast – we’ve got a whole fun day ahead of us!” they sat up and pulled me up with them.
