Weird, Just Weird

The next day I went to school, still as nervous as ever. That drama lesson yesterday did not make it any less awkward between the twins and I, if not even worse.
It was like I did not even know what I was to them. Just a colleague? A friend? Or more than a friend? I honestly did not know. But I was pretty sure I was no more than a friend, despite all those flirty moments between us. No way. I still did not feel like I really knew them. They still remained mysterious to me.
They were regularly very distant to everyone. But it seemed like in these few days I had broken down their wall a bit, and saw a side of them that was not on show often.
I stepped into the staff room, and the first things that caught my eyes were two blond heads. They snapped their heads up when they heard my entrance, and I tried to be nice and smiled at them. But they just ignored me and went back to their work like the past few days did not exist all. Huh?
Not everyone was here, but Katy was. She smiled at me, and I returned the smile weakly. What was wrong with the twins? So had they built up the wall firmly again? Why?
But they had stopped the staring thingy. Did they find me embarrassing and annoying? I used to find their creepy stares pissing me off but now I wanted those moments back. I just wanted to get closer to them, no matter how secretive and dangerous they were – because something was constantly telling me that it would be better to stay away from them. They seemed to give out a dark vibe, even though I did not know what exactly it was.
Anyway, they had saved me from further embarrassing myself in public and got me home safely once… They could not be that bad, could they?
The day past in a trance, and I found my mind always wandering to the part that I did not want to bring up again. The twins. They were confusing me and I should stop thinking about them, but I could not.
It was the last lesson before lunch break, and I was having lesson with this senior form. On my way to the classroom, I walked past the twins who were heading to the staff room in the deserted corridor; they did not have lessons – I was late to class because I had too much on my mind and it seemed like everything I was doing today was a mess; I made a number of mistakes during lessons.
But the thing was that they were staring at me again. This time I did not smile at them; I simply looked away. I had had enough of confusion from them.
During lesson, this boy named Ivan kept trying to flirt with me. I heard that he was a big flirt among the seniors.
“Miss (your last name),” he called when I was writing on the blackboard, “So what about you and the two Mr. Grimes? Are you three together?”
The whole class broke out into murmurs, and I turned around.
“That’s not a really nice thing to say, Ivan,” I said, “This is not morally accepted. This is wrong.” But well, honestly speaking, the idea seemed nice to me… Argh (Yn), what were you thinking? Just forget about the twins already! You should never, ever, have thoughts like that.
“But yesterday we all saw it on stage,” he said – yes, he was among the drama class, “Are you sure?”
“That’s just an act,” I resisted the urge to roll my eyes. What was he trying to play?
“So you three are not together?”
“No,”
“Well, I saw you going out of the club the other day… With them,” he said with a grin on his face. No. Was he at the club too? I meant, he was probably 18 already, that was why he knew about this. He might be in that club that day too; he could not have made this up. What else did he see?
The class was sent into even more furious murmurs.
“And?” I raised an eyebrow.
“So you really went to the club with them?”
“I didn’t go with them, but yes I did go there,” there was no need to deny it. Who said teachers could not go to clubs in their spare time? But I was pretty sure it was the idea of the twins being involved that excited the crowd.
“But you’re a teacher, so are they,”
“I just went there as (Yn), Ivan. And they went as John and Edward. Not Miss (your last name) and Mr. Grimes. We weren’t on duty then,”
“Alright,” Ivan sighed, “You sure you’re not with them and you’re single?”
“Yes,”
“Okay… I was just wondering if you’d like to go to the club with me this Friday,”
What? Was he seriously doing this in front of the whole class?
I laughed, “Oh Ivan, you’re being funny. I’m your teacher, so no,”
“I’m asking (Yn) out, not Miss (your last name),”
Oh. That was why he had to bring that up. God. This kid.
“I’ll still say no,” I said, “Now focus or I’ll send you to the principal.”
“Come on, give—”
“Ivan,” I said sternly, and every student was looking at me now; they were clearly enjoying this conversation – ugh, I should have ended this long ago, “Go to the principal. Now.”
I quickly got a piece of paper and scribbled down a note to the principal saying that Ivan was disturbing the lesson and went to open the door as Ivan came forward in a huff.
As I opened the door, I was startled to see Edward walking past. But it seemed like he was not really walking past here… It was like he had been outside for a while. Why?
And this sent the students into a heated discussion again, seeing him outside the classroom.
Edward stopped in his track and looked at me, then to Ivan who was standing next to me grumpily. He was staring at Edward with burning eyes – this was not looking good.
“Do you need help?” Edward asked.
“Erm,” I said hesitantly, “Actually I’m going just going to send him to the principal. Maybe you can accompany him there, if you don’t mind.” Honestly, I did not trust Ivan going alone. He was really cheeky and everything.
“Sure,” he said, and I handed him the note instead of giving it to Ivan to bring it to the principal.
“Thanks,” I smiled small at him, and went back to lesson. The students were still very excited from the incident that had just happened, and some girls were squeaking over the sight of the oh-so-gorgeous Mr. Edward Grimes.
Why was he here, anyway? Was he stalking me? I was probably thinking too much though.

Finally the lesson had ended, and I was walking along the hallway towards the staff room. As I was tidying the stuff in the classroom, everyone had already gone to the cafeteria when I exited the classroom, so I was left alone walking in the quiet hallway which had been really noisy minutes ago.
I was distracted by the incident earlier, so I was unaware of a supposed-to-be empty classroom’s door opening behind me. I continued walking, but was pulled back by whoever that had emerged from that classroom, and I was pulled inside.
