Walking through London, Magnolia finished reading out another piece of parchment that explained the equipment she'd need to buy. Both her and Dudley had took turns in reading it and they tried to ignore the looks that Hagrid was getting since he was inhumanely tall.
"All students must be equipped with.. one standard size 2 pewter cauldron. And may bring, if they desire, either an owl, a cat, or a toad. I have a feeling as to where we need to go to find all this. Diagon Alley, right?"
Magnolia looked up at Hagrid and the half-giant nodded in response. He then mumbled out.
"Indeed. We have to stop off at somewhere first. Come on."
The three followed after him and he led them to what looked like an old, scruffy building. But as Hagrid opened the door, Petunia read the hanging sign.
The Leaky Cauldron
She then looked around and noticed that no one payed any attention to the building that stuck out from the others. Alas, she disregarded it and followed after her son and niece. She thanked Hagrid as he held the door open for them. And once they were all in, the door closed behind them.
Magnolia looked around and remembered something she had read in a book she had hidden away from Vernon.
This must be the Leaky Cauldron. A pub.
People wearing all sorts of hats and robes were talking amongst themselves and laughing away. It was quite noisy. Magnolia's nose scrunched up a little as the smell of tobacco and beer infiltrated her nostrils and she had to fight the urge to not sneeze as it was quite a strong aroma.
A man behind the bar spoke as he spotted Hagrid.
"Ah, Hagrid! The usual, I presume?"
Hagrid replied back as he patted Magnolia's shoulder softly.
"No, thanks, Tom. I'm on official Hogwarts business, just helping young Magnolia here buy her school supplies."
Tom stared at the redheaded girl and uttered in shock and disbelief.
"Bless my soul. It's Magnolia Potter."
And as soon as he finished his sentence, the whole pub silenced, which was a very rare thing. Magnolia shuffled a little closer to Petunia as everyone in the pub stared at the girl. And to make it worse, people from all angles began greeting Magnolia.
"Welcome back, Miss Potter. Welcome back."
I wasn't aware that I left in the first place.
Magnolia grimaced when a man grabbed her hand and started shaking it firmly. The girl smiled awkwardly and wanted the ground to swallow her up when her hand was shook again, but by a woman this time.
"Doris Crockford, Miss Potter. I can't believe I'm meeting you at last."
Magnolia laughed awkwardly and nodded in a response. Once the woman had let go, she held her hand out and smiled when the cold liquid of hand sanitizer was slyly poured onto her hands by Dudley, who carried a small bottle with him at all times. And as she was rubbing the liquid into her hands, she almost yelped when a man abruptly stood up in front of her and stuttered out.
