Snow completely covered Hogwarts' grounds. Hedwig practically blended in with it. The Great Hall was festively decorated and Hagrid had cut down a Christmas tree that was so tall that Professor Flitwick had to use Wingardium Leviosa on himself to be able to decorate the entire thing.
Fred, George and Lee did indeed get the gifts the group needed and Magnolia had finished wrapping the ones for her friends. And of course she would leave wrapping presents till the last minute seeing as it was Christmas Eve.
Magnolia had already owled Petunia and Dudley and told them that she'd be staying at Hogwarts this Christmas, along with the presents she got for them. She even put a spell on the packages so it wasn't heavy for Hedwig. And they sent back some presents for her. She'll open them on Christmas day.
However, Hermione and Hanley are going back home for Christmas today, so Magnolia made sure she gave them their presents so they could pack them in with the rest of their stuff in their trunks and sat opposite Ron in the Great Hall whilst waiting for the brunette twins to finish their packing.
The two redheads got into a game of Wizard's Chess and Magnolia knew Dudley would love this game.
"Knight to E-5."
Magnolia and Ron watched as the chess piece moved to its place and now it was Ron's go. He was quite smug.
"Queen to E-5."
Ron's piece moved forward once, stood up from its chair, and then picked up that chair, swung it, and smashed one of Magnolia's pieces to bits. Magnolia groaned in defeat and Hermione's voice was suddenly heard.
"That's totally barbaric!"
Magnolia looked up from the game and smiled as the two siblings were now here and ready to catch the train back home. Magnolia chuckled at Hermione's reaction to the game and Ron replied back, still smug.
"That's Wizard's Chess."
Ron glanced at Hermione and Hanley's trunk and stated as Hanley was standing next to Ron, staring at Magnolia.
"I see you've both packed."
Hermione sassily retorted back.
"See you haven't."
Ron explained and Magnolia looked at Hanley, who then blushed as Magnolia had caught him staring.
"Change of plans. My parents decided to go to Romania to visit my brother, Charlie. He's studying dragons there."
Hermione suggested.
"Good. You can help Magnolia, then. She's going to go and look in the library for information on Nicholas Flamel."
Am I?
Ron complained back.
"We've looked a hundred times."
That's a bit of an exaggeration.
Hermione sat down and leaned forward before speaking.
"Not in the restricted section."
She stood back up and added cheerfully.
"Happy Christmas."
She grabbed her trunk and began to walk away. Ron stated.
"I think we've had a bad influence on her."
Magnolia snorted and noticed that Hanley was still standing there. She asked softly.
"You alright there, Hanley? You're gonna miss the train if you keep standing there."
Hanley blinked, and then mumbled out.
