Calvin’s POV 

I took a deep breath, knowing that what I am about to say is going to shake her world, good or bad.  Having known her since she was young, doesn’t give me an advantage in this situation. It doesn’t change the fact that I didn’t turn up in her life, up until now. Although I desperately wanted to, she was living her life so wonderfully, my abrupt appearance wouldn’t have made her happy, she has so many questions about me, that I left unanswered, so many queriers and the answer is sitting right in front of her. I take a deep breath and begin to speak, slowly moving my hand away from the necklace, her eyes remained lock to mine as she looked intently at me. 

Calvin: For many years you’ve searched for Adam, little do you know he’s sitting right here infant of you. 

A wave of confusion sprung onto her face, I don’t know how seeing the necklace is going to relieve that, but I have to let it out, I have to tell her. Her eyes went to the necklace, they beamed, her mouth dropped open, in shock. Please don’t be mad…I kept the thought running through my brain. 

Taylor: ……..that’s Adam’s, I gave it to him, why do you have it? 

she trailed off, I looked beyond her teary eyes, a world of confusion and doubt, lies, further beyond that is something so magical that their lies haven't managed to touch, her childhood. What ever they say to her, I will always be there in her childhood and they can’t touch that, a child’s mind so powerful that even the strongest of soldiers cannot erase of it. 

Taylor: ….WHY? 

Tears streamed down her face, I wanted so badly to wipe them away, seeing her cry broke my heart. 

I remained silent the aching in my heart didn’t stop, ever since she left, there’s been a part missing, and it seems that it’s filled when I’m around her.

Taylor: Calvin…this isn’t a joke,…he was my best friend, the only thing I have that makes sense these days, please don’t make it blur like everything else.  

She began to cry even more.

Taylor: ….they told me you hated me…..and that you never wanted to speak to me or see me again……they told me you were in an accident…and……so you can’t be him….he’s gone.. 

Calvin: Taylor despite what they said, everything they told you…..was lies, I’m here, I aways have been here, I will still protect you like we promised, it’s me Adam, your Prince Superman, remember? 

She shook her head disbelieve crowded over her, as she wiped her tears in between sniffles. She doesn’t believe me…..what else can I do? 

Taylor: No…..If your were really Adam, you would have come saved me long ago, I have been drowning in this pool of confusion, the real Adam wouldn’t let me go through that, so whoever you are, Calvin…please leave me alone. 

She stood up, flung her purse on her shoulder and walked out, I just watched, I stood by and watched her walk out, possibly forever. Gosh this was going so well then I had to ruin it. I’m so stupid. 

I just witnessed the best friend I spent all my childhood with walk out, I never though I’d see the day where she didn’t recognise who I was, the day everyone dreads. The only option i have left is to wait and have courage and hope that she will realise I have been waiting here for sixteen years, I have been fighting for her, for sixteen years, I’m not going to give up now, no way I made a promise to her, we made a promise that we’d find each other if we ever got lost, maybe she doesn’t remember it but I do. 

I’ll fight for you forever, that’s my job as your Superman.
