We reached the island and I ran off of my skateboard and straight towards Maka. I didn't care about the snakes and spiders, I wasn't even thinking about them. The only thing I could think of was saving Maka. I was running at full speed ahead of me until I reached Maka with a hooded figure kicking her stomach over and over again on the ground while she was tied up and defenceless. Tears were rolling down her cheeks, and the only thing stopping her from screaming was the gag in her mouth.
"Let her go you fucking bastard!" I yelled. He turned over and I saw his eye's glowing purple and he smirked. I kept Liz and Patty pointed on him the whole time.
"I want to make sure that it's nice and dead." he stated in a monotone voice, kicking her stomach again. I pulled the trigger on Liz's gun, but he dodged the blow.
"You're a fucking bastard, Carter." I said. "Or should I call you Joseph?"
"Did it really take you this long to figure it out Kid? I almost thought you had forgotten me. I thought you were smarter than that." Joseph said with a smirk on his face. He removed the hood on his head to reveal a boy that was perfectly symmetrical to me, with the exception of our eye color.
"I thought your hair was brown..." Patti said, confused.
"I got the help of a witch to disguise myself in front of you all." Joseph said. "After that, I started going by my middle name and hoped father wouldn't recognize me at all."
"How the hell did you get past him in that car accident?!? Why did you fake your damn death, Joseph? You hurt everyone around you and it felt like I was the only one who realized you might have still been alive!" I yelled.
"Don't act like you don't know Kid! I grew tired of father pampering you because you were his 'little reaper' and all I got was mother's powers as a weapon, and I didn't get an ounce of love in our family. After we started to become more independent all we ever did was fight. I felt like you and father hated me and I couldn't take it anymore." Joseph said. He tried to punch me in the face, but I moved my head back, dropped my guns, caught his fore-arm and looked hime dead in the eye.
"Not once did I feel an ounce of hate towards you when we were kids. I never thought about hating you until today." I said, never breaking eye contact.
"I bet you wouldn't be able to fight worth shit if you don't have your weapons" Joseph said.
"Is that a challenge?" I asked with a smirk on my face and let go of his arm.
"For old times sake?" Joseph asked with a smirk that was symmetrical to mine on his face.
"Okay, but your asking for it." I said. I didn't know about him, but I could tell what his every move was going to be. He threw a punch at me again, and I caught it again and flipped him over. His chest hit the ground and he grunted.
"I know all of your weaknesses." he stated.
"And I know your every move before you make it." I said back. I looked over to see Liz in Patty, back in their human forms. "Get her out of here." I mouthed.
It's too bad you aren't a weapon, Kid. I can fight just fine without a meister." Joseph said.
"I know." I said back. Next thing I knew, his arms had blades sticking out of them.
"It's a good thing I've been practicing with my reaper powers."
