I bet the end of the last chapter was a bit confusing........ I'm hoping it was because it's supposed to be.

After Spirit had collapsed, I had taken him to Stein, leaving Soul at the DWMA. It would probably make him hate me even more, which is part of the reason I did it. The other part being that when he regained consciousness, I wanted to know what the hell he was saying back in the death room. Or I could ask Stein if he knew.

"What exactly happened?" Stein asked me when I put Spirit down and he handed me a cup of tea. His house looked as messy as ever and it bugged me to no end. This whole thing with Spirit started to get me a bit nervous, which usually would make me twinge at anything asymmetrical. Which it was.

"He came into the death room said something about my mother controlling him, said help, and collapsed." I said, and Steins eyes grew wide. "Why are you looking at me like that? You aren't just going to tell me the same thing, are you?"

"Okay, just hear me out." Stein said. I looked at his facial features closely. In stead of looking like a man that was about 50, he looked like he was around 80 years old, due to all of his smoking. His hair was thinned to where it was practically translucent, and his voice was a bit hoarse.

"Fine." I said, crossing my arms.

"When your mother 'died', it wasn't in childbirth. It was a little bit after, when Spirit and I were tasked with getting rid of her to try and keep you safe. Though it utterly failed and by the time we had gotten there she had actually just split your soul in half and made Joseph."

"What?!?" I spit out the tea I had just sipped. "How the hell is that possible?"

"Well, even though many people thought she was a weapon, she was actually a witch." Stein replied. "Which is why your parents got divorced after your dad found out. Though, it still amazes me how she went so long without using any magic."

"Okay then, why did she split my soul in half?" I asked.

"Well, she wanted to be able to bend your will, but it didn't work with your soul in one piece. Your shinigami half was immune to it, so she split that half of your soul from the other half so she could at least control part of you. She knew that Spirit and I were going to come for you, so she was going to try and get Joseph to kill your father when you got older." Stein said. I just stared at him in a blank haze, wandering what this all had to do with Spirit. "Either that or she decided that since she had no use for you and wanted to kill you but it didn't work."

"So this relates to Spirit how?" I asked.

"It's how she 'died'" Stein gestured quotation marks around died. "When she 'died' she splattered her soul around. Both Spirit and I thought that she had died, until we had dealt with Medusa. She had escaped us by doing that. Sometimes that can kill a witch, sometimes it won't. Ever since that happened, I've realized your mother might still be alive and probably bending peoples wills."

"Aaaaaannnddd why didn't this come up after that whole kishin business?" I asked.

"I didn't want anyone getting hyped up about something that could've been nothing. This is the first time I've heard anything of the possibility of Sierra being alive!" Stein stated.

"Whoah whoah, whoah... Back up there. Did you just say Sierra?" I asked.

"Yeah... That's your mothers name..." Stein shrugged. "Why does that matter so much?"

"Because, according to Mikey, a Sierra kidnapped him, Gerard, Ray, and Frank." I said. "There was also the fact that a Sierra tried to split Maka and I up, which is undoubtedly the same Sierra."
