So sorry for not updating in a couple of months. Finishing my other fanfic took a lot longer than I expected because I got crazy busy. But now this fanfic is my top priority again, and then, if your interested in SoMa too, I'm in the middle of writing a new fanfic that I recently publish called "The Bet (SoMa)" but that one will be worked on more at school than at home.

Also, I finally figured out why Hiro was able to put up with Excalibur so easily in the anime; Apparently Hiro in Japanese is a name meaning tolerant. I srsly didn't get that til now!

-----------------------------------------------------

I had Carter in my hand and was starting to go around the city killing kishin to help me get used to fighting with a sword, and also I just like fighting kishin. It wasn't too long before I was fighting like I had been using Carter like I had used Liz and Patty so much. After training for a while, Carter and I started drawing out a plan to get everyone back from Payton.

But we literally couldn't think of anything. We couldn't kill her, or everyone would die. Other than that, we couldn't think of anything except explaining to her that I didn't even Kill Joseph, or Sierra, or Asura. Even if we did that I doubt it would work. Hell, she could easily just commit suicide and everyone would just die for all we know. It wasn't impossible for her to do. She seemed unstable as it was, so there was no telling what would happen to everyone.

We decided to try explaining, and if that didn't work we would try to make a deal. If I could beat her in a fight she would let everyone go, give Maka her memories back, and I would let her live. If I lost, well, I hadn't quite figured that part out yet, and hopefully I wouldn't loose anyway.

"You could do some weird shit like offer her your soul or something." Carter said. "I mean, I don't think you would loose."

"But there's still the possibility of loosing. I'm not going to risk that much. As much as I want everyone back, I can't save them if I'm not alive." I explained. "Let's just hope it doesn't come to fighting anyway."

"Hoping won't mean we don't need to be realistic." Carter said.

"Maybe if it comes down to a fight we can let her decide what she gets if she wins." I said. "I'm going to go check up on Maka." I said, and when I went to our room, I found another note, and this time I didn't even have to read it to know what was happening.

Carter's POV

We walked up to where everything supposedly went down with Sierra and them, looking for Payton.

"She's here. I can tell." Kid said.

"How can you tell?" I asked.

"Soul Perception." He answered simply. "Get into your weapon form. I don't want to accidentally get separated."

"Alright." I said, changing into a sword. According to Kid, I looked like a black version of Excalibur, and less annoying. Since I never personally met Excalibur, I wouldn't know, but according to Kid I probably didn't want to. Kid walked into the house with me held awkwardly with both of his hands in a perfectly symmetrical position. "Kid you look really awkward, like, why do you care so much about being symmetrical?"

"I can't help it. I get like this when I'm really nervous nowadays. I actually used to be like this all the time before Maka and I got together. I mean, she's pretty much what keeps me calm and focused on what really matters but when I get nervous I kind of just go back to being all obsessed with symmetry and stuff." Kid explained, talking kind of frantically.

"I think you need to calm down a bit..." I said.

"Didn't I just tell you Maka is what keeps me calm I mean seriously if she's in trouble I start freaking out and I can't really calm down enough until I know she's okay..." Kid explained.
