31: A "Little" News

Souls POV

Ray and I sat down at one of the tables at Jack in the Box. I braced myself to tell him about what was going on between Liz and I. Honestly, even thinking about it made me pretty sad. It's hard to realize how blind I was for eighteen years.Eighteen fucking years. 

"So what did you want to talk to me about?" Ray asked after a moment, and he looked a little nervous, like he had done something wrong.

"Okay, first, why do you look so nervous?" I asked him. "What I want to talk to you about really nothing to do with anything you did."

"Wait then why do you want to talk to me about it?" Ray asked.

"Because it still affects you." I told him. "You know how I told you it might be a good idea to stay at a friends house for a bit?"

"Yeah. You never did tell me why." Ray pointed out.

"Well, now I'm going to tell you why." I told him, still trying to figure out just exactly how I was going to tell him about Liz and I. "Your mom and I have basically been... fighting... a lot lately and we didn't really want to drag you into it."

"What have you guys been fighting about?" Ray asked me.

 "Long story short," I started, "she cheated on me."

"Wait seriously?" Ray looked just as surprised as when I had found out, from Patty might I add, that Liz was cheating on me.

About a month ago, Patty told me that she thought something might be up with Liz, and she might be cheating on me, but she didn't know for sure. I was surprised she would rat out her own sister like that, but I appreciated her telling me that, and she made me promise she didn't hear it from her if I confronted Liz about it, which I did, right after Ray started staying with Black Star, Tsubaki, and Frank.

When Black Star and Tsubaki questioned why I told Ray it might be a good idea to find a place to stay, and why he was staying there, I told them exactly what Patty told me. Basically everyone knew except for Kid, Maka, possibly Crona, and all of the kids.

Kid's POV

"So I guess I should kind of get caught up on the last year." I said as we sat down at a Burger King. "Anything new going on?"

"Well, there's one I kind of want to keep a surprise until we get home." Maka told me, then continued. "Also, Patty and Crona finally got together, and their engaged."

"Gerard has a girlfriend." Frank chimed in.

"She's not my girlfriend!!" Gerard said, staring down Frank, but if you looked closely you could tell he was blushing a bit. "You don't have to practically make fun of me for liking someone!"

"Oh come on at least I'm not making fun of you like some of the people at the school do." Frank pointed out.

"Wait who the hell is making fun of me?!?" Gerard asked.

"Some of the guys Lindsey hangs out with." Frank shrugged. "They pretty much keep saying that you have no chance with her and laugh about you behind your back."

"Great." Gerard said, sinking in his chair, and I just sat there and stared at the two of them.

"So in other news, I think something might be going on between Soul and Liz. I don't know what, since nobody actually said anything, but I can tell somethings wrong between them lately." Maka told me.

"Yeah, there is. I don't know what, but Soul told Ray he should stay with a friend for a bit." Frank said. "So he's been staying with my parents and I."

"Maybe that's what Souls talking to Ray about."Mikey said.

"It must be pretty bad if they asked Ray to stay somewhere else." Gerard pointed out.

"I wander what could make it that bad..." I said aloud.

"I'm pretty sure Soul told my parents, but he only told them because Ray's staying with us. Other than that I don't think he wanted anyone to know yet." Frank said.

"With those two unless they tell you directly it's pretty hard to tell whats going on." I stated.

"Either that or you just have no clue how to tell when somethings going on with them." Maka stated.

"Hey, I can tell when somethings going on with them, I just can't tell what's causing it." I said a bit defensively.

Time Skip (Since I have no clue how to continue that conversation)

"So what was that one surprise you said you wanted to wait until we got home to tell me?" I asked Maka as we walked up to the manor.

"I was pregnant when you became Payton's slave." Maka told me. "I didn't know until about a week after you were gone."

Another Time Skip, because I'm really awkward with conversation stuff and I have no clue how to continue that.

Liz came to our house a few hours later, crying. It took a while to get an explanation as to why she was crying, but when she told Maka and I what was going on, and we agreed she could stay for one night, but she would have to find somewhere else to stay.

Then one night turned to two, then three, then a week, then two weeks. It seemed as if she were taking advantage of the fact that Maka and I didn't want her living on the streets, even after what she did to Soul. Though, we also didn't want her living here.

But I refused to kick her out on the streets, not after everything she helped me through, and not after one thing she told me the day Soul kicked her out. That part wasn't for her sake.

Liz was pregnant, and she didn't know who the father was.
