Another week had gone by, and we still hadn't found Joseph. The whipping on the back had stopped though, which led me to believe he may have escaped from whoever was doing that to him, or that he was dead. I couldn't even tell anymore. The connection between us was growing weak to begin with, and it was hard to tell if it may have been gone or not. It seemed like it was, though, which made me worry. Joseph was the closest I had to a sane brother.

One night, I took Liz and Patty with me, leaving Maka behind, and went to the last place that I saw my older brother. He was the last person I ever wanted to see, but if there's any chance he may have something to do with this, I needed to confront him.

"Asura..." my voice sounded strained. He was weaker than he was last time we met, there was no way he could beat me, but if I even got into a five mile radius of the guy, I started to feel the madness slowly consume my sanity.

"Hello, Kid." Asura said with an evil tone. "Have you decided to go against our father, finally?"

"In your dreams, Asura! I came here because I think you have something to do with Joseph going missing!" I yelled at him. Liz and Patty were already in their weapon forms.

"Oh, Joseph? Couldn't you feel it? He's gone, Kid." Asura smirked.

"How can you be smiling about that? He's your brother for Christs sake!" I yelled at him. A couple of tears escaped my eyes, and anger started to consume my mind.

"Joseph was nothing but a burden to us all. He didn't belong anywhere." Asura responded. When he finished talking, a girl that I immediately recognized came through the door behind me and locked it.

"Why, hello, Kid." she said.

"P-Payton!" I stuttered. Last time I saw Payton, she knocked out everyone in the DWMA with a sleep spell so she could walk away free when Maka and I found out she was a witch.

"What? I don't see you for almost two years and I don't get a hello?" Payton asked, and her tone sounded like she was trying to seduce me. She walked right up into my personal space, and when I backed up, I ran right into Asura. She kept closing in on me, and I turned my face to the left and tried backing away as much as I could, but Asura was just like a statue. Her face was just centimeters away from mine now.

"Could you maybe back up a bit please? This is really uncomfortable....." I asked, though I knew it was useless. I still had Liz and Patty in my hands, but Asura had grabbed my arms, not allowing me to point them at Payton.

"You're no fun, Kid. Loosen up a bit!" Payton said cheerily. In stead of backing up, though, she grabbed my chin, forced me to face her, and kissed me. My eyes widened as I tried kicking her off of me, but she didn't budge.

She licked my lower lip, asking for entrance into my mouth, but I kept my mouth closed and my eyes open.

Liz, Patty, help! I thought. As if they could read my mind, they went back into their human form and pushed Payton off of me.

"Please dear God never speak of this, you guys..." I asked them.

"No promises!" Patty said.

I elbowed Asura in the stomach and he let go of my arms.

"Prove to me that Joseph is dead!" I yelled, turning towards Asura. Liz and Patty changed back into guns, and I had one pointed at Asura and the other at Payton.

"Well, we don't really have any use for him anymore." Asura smirked.

TIME SKIP

"That was a lot easier than I thought it would be...." I said. I took Liz and Patti home, and now just had Joseph over my shoulder and rode my skateboard back home. I was hoping that Maka hadn't woken up for some reason. I walked into the house, careful to stay as quiet as possible as I started dragging Joseph upstairs.

"Shit..." I whispered when I heard Maka throwing up in the bathroom. She hadn't been sick earlier, but now I felt bad for having left her alone in the middle of the night. I heard small cries in the bathroom and dropped Joseph where he was to go check on Maka
