"so, meet at mine? we can drive instead of going on train, i'll text my address." i say was we stop at the car park. "yeah, i'm pretty sure we know where you live- everyone knows." peter says, and i roll my eyes. "i'll send anyways." i say, and peter nods as they head to their car. "do you want me to drop you home first so you can get changed? i can pick you up after." i ask kate. "i think this is already comfy, but thanks." she says, and i smile as we walk to the car.
"never been this close to your house." kate says as i pull up to the driveway. "closest i've been is from across the road!" she continues as i park the car outside the garage. "that's... not creepy at all." i say, making kate panic. "no! not in a creepy- stalker way!" she says, and i laugh, getting out of the car.
i enter the pin on the door and it opens. i push the door, letting kate in. "holy shit!" she says, walking inside. i smile, locking the car and door. "your house is AMAZING!" she yells, looking around. "cool, isn't it?" i reply.

i watch kate roam around the house like a dog, looking at everything. "YOU HAVE A BAR?! IN YOUR HOUSE?!" she says as she walks up the small set of stairs. "no, that's where we keep the dead animals." i say sarcastically, following her. "huh?" she says, turning around to look at me. "it's a joke, kate." i assure and she sticks the middle finger up at me, turning back around. "want a drink?" i ask. "too early. maybe later." she says, with a smile.
"this is my room." i say, opening the door. "holy crap!" she says, smiling. i close the door after she walks in, turning around. "can i sit on your bed?" she asks, standing beside it. "yeah, go for it." i say and kate sits on the side of my bed, mouth opened. "IT'S SO SOFT!" she says, laying down. "that's what she said." i mumble, smiling at my joke. "what did you say?" kate says, confused. "i said... i know right!" i lie. kate buys it, and i quietly laugh. "i'm gonna get changed, i'll be right back." i say to kate.
i walk into the walk in wardrobe, looking at the clothes. "what to wear..." i say, skimming my hand through the various pieces of clothing. eventually, i pick out an outfit to wear. i head into the bathroom, getting changed.

i place the dirty clothes in the laundry hamper, walking out to the bathroom. "nice outfit." kate says, sitting up from the bed. "thanks." i say, sitting next to her. "they should all be here so-" i say, getting cut off by the door bell. "good timing!" kate says, and i smile as we start walking down the spiral stairs. "hey guys." i say as i open the door. "jesus christ..." mj says, looking behind me. "wanna come in?" i ask, standing to the side.
"is this real water?" peter says, pointing at the water fountain thing where the spiralled staircase is. "no, it's holographic." i say, sarcastically. "real-" "no, peter! it's real." i say, laughing. he smiles, carefully poking a finger in the fountain.
"alright, ready to go?" i say as we walk downstairs after exploring everywhere. "yeah, we're ready." ned says, and we walk out. i stand to the side and wait for everyone to go out. ned, peter and mj walk towards my car, and kate comes out, waiting for me to close the door. i lock the door, smiling at kate. "you good?" i ask, and kate nods as we walk to my car. i sit in the driver's seat, kate in the passenger. "why do i have to sit in the middle?" peter complains. i look in the rear camera, readjusting it. "because you're literally the smallest." mj says, making peter groan in annoyance.
"it's so stuffy in here..." i say, stopping at a red light. "can we take the roof off?!" kate asks excitedly. "press this button." i say to her, pointing at a button. she presses it and in a few minutes, the roof folds down. "so awesome!" ned and peter say at the same time. they look at each other, smiling. "where are we going first?" mj asks. "uh..." i think for a second, the light going green. "arcade maybe?" i suggest. "cool with me." she replies.
we enter the arcade, music blasting. "wanna share a card?" i ask kate. "yeah, sure. i can pay." she says. we walk to the counter, getting an arcade card. i quickly hover my phone over the machine, and kate jerks her head towards me. "y/n!" she says, and i smile. "what?" i say, getting the card. "i was supposed to pay!" she exclaims. "really? crap, i didn't know." i say, still smiling.
"hey, photos anyone?" i say, and we head to the rather big photo booth. "c'mon guys, get in!" i say, waving a 'come' motion to peter, ned and mj. kate sits next to me, squishing towards me. "squish in!" mj says and i move more towards kate, legs touching. "i'm halfway in the frame, guys!" peter says. "no way we're fitting in this." kate says, almost giving up. "might as well sit on my lap, kate!" i say, jokingly. kate looks at me, considering it. "are you kidding or?" she says. "well- i mean, if it means everyone's in the frame." i say. after a few seconds, kate lifts her legs over mine, sitting down on my lap. i laugh, making kate laugh. "everyone in?" mj asks. "we're in." ned says. i wrap my arm around kate's waist, leaning forward. i tap my card, leaning back again.
i look at the screen, reading down the count down. 3,2,1. i smile for the camera, wrapping my other arm around kate's waist. flash fills my eyes for a millisecond, and we look at the photo. i smile, and it goes back to the camera. kate leans back into me, and i get my right hand and bring it to her face, squishing her cheeks, thumb on one side and the other four fingers on the opposite cheek. kate smiles, lifting up one eyebrow slightly. i smile and wink at the camera, the countdown starting.
