Amara flopped on to the couch, turning on her phone. She scrolled through some delivery apps, looking for something to eat. She yawned and stretched out on the couch. While she was looking through the different restaurants to decide what she wanted, there was a drop down notification. Without thinking much of it, she opened it.

She instantly regretted it, when she saw who the message was from. Seeing the single worded message from Taehyun, made her heart sink all the way down into her stomach. She also felt her chest tighten from the pain of seeing his text. She pulled her bottom lip between her teeth, debating what to do. After leaving his message unanswered for a couple of minutes, she decided she should just see what he wanted. Just get it out of the way. She took a deep breath and responded.

After spending a few minutes speaking, Amara ended the conversation with telling him not to contact her anymore. She sighed and stared up at the ceiling, frowning. Shortly after, Jungwon came into the living room. She looked over at him and sat up, sighing. He noticed she was upset and sat next to her.

"What's the matter? Are you feeling sick?" he asked, putting a hand on her back.

She waited a moment, before speaking. "I just finished texting with Taehyun," she said softly.

He frowned more and said nothing, so she could finish.

"Kai didn't tell him about what happened at the cafe, which wasn't surprising. He tried to say he wanted to be here for me, check up on me. But, I doubt that he's doing it because he wants to. I feel like he did it because he felt like he was obligated to do so. And I don't want that. I... If he wants to be involved, he needs to want to. Not because he has to,"

Amara sighed, looking at the floor, frowning. Jungwon moved his hand on her back, to rub the back of her head. This made her look up at him, showing the pained look on her face.

"I just want my baby to have a father figure in their life. I don't want to be that mother that tells her child that their fathers left them," she said, her heart breaking in her voice.

It took him a moment to respond to that.

"Your baby will have father figures in their life. They'll have me and the others. I promise you,"

Hearing him say this, made her chest tighten. But, unlike earlier, it was a good tighten.

"They will...? You'd do that? For me?" she whispered softly,

"Of course we will. We love you very much. You're our best friend. We'll be here with you, through every step of the way," he said, smiling some more.

She frowned again. "But, what if...--"

Jungwon leaned down to her, placing his forehead on hers.

"I swear to you that we'll be there for you. Always." he said, interrupting her doubt before she could say it.

Amara breathed out deeply and smiled softly. She quickly wrapped her arms around him, hugging him tightly. He returned her embrace, holding her firmly against him. She buried her face into his shoulder.

"Thank you, that means so much to me. You have no idea," she said to him.

He smiled and held her tightly.

"I love you, Wonnie. I really do,"

Hearing those words leave her mouth, made Jungwon suck in a breath and hold it. He felt his heart skip a beat or two. That wasn't something new for him. His heart had been skipping beats around her for a while now.

And he knew exactly why.

And he knew exactly why
