09|| "Kim Sunoo!!"

The next day, Lia and Eli both went to school early and as usual, Sunghoon was left at home.

The two stopped when they noticed the famous guy, Kim Sunoo and his circle of friends in the hallways having a conversation.

"Where did you get those scratches?" One of his friends asked referring to the scratches on his arms.

Lia saw him smiled widely, "I met my brother and we played all afternoon" Sunoo replied.

His friends started to look at each other including Lia and Eli with confusion, "Sunoo, aren't you the only child?"

Sunoo's smile dropped. "Well, I'm simply adopted and I accidentally met my real brother" he simply replied as he continue to put bandages on his wound.

"That's pretty weird..." Eli whispered to Lia. Lia slightly elbowed her for her to shut up.

As Lia was about to drag Eli away, Sunoo spotted them behind.

"Lia Kim? Hi!!" He greeted happily and waved his hand at her.

Her eyes widened, "M-me?" Lia uttered being surprised.

"Yeah, you!" Sunoo pointed her out.

"You didn't say he's your friend" Eli whispered.

"No, we aren't" she immediately replied.

Sunoo walked towards her blocking their way. "Why can't you say anything?"

"H-how did you know my name? I never told you my name before."

"Silly. Everyone has a name tag" Sunoo replied giggling.

Lia awkwardly laughed, "ah yeah. Now excuse us" she excused and was about to break through but Sunoo spread his arm wide that stopped them.

Lia's eyes met with Sunoo.

"I'd like to say something. Meet me at the rooftop during lunch time" Sunoo ordered.

"What? W-why would I?" Lia stuttered.

"I'll be waiting" Sunoo avoided her question as he smile sweetly at her.

"Nice to meet you, Eli" Sunoo greeted as he walk pass through her.

Eli bowed her head with a smile as a response. Lia and Sunoo's friends are left dumbfounded. Lia ignored his order and decided to continue to their room.

As they walk in the hallway, every female students are glaring at her with their arms crossed.

~Lunch Break~

Lia went straight at the school nursery instead of going to the rooftop.

"That man is really weird. I'll gonna stay here for a while. I'm sure he won't find me--"

"Who? Are you talking about me?" Someone interfered behind- it's Sunoo.

Lia slowly turned around forcing a smile "Yes, I'm talking about you. How did you find me? And about the thing you're about to tell, tell it right here" she continuously said.

Sunoo teasingly smiled, "okay. First, I went to check on you in your room but Eli told me you're here. Second, about that thing, we're already friends whether you like it or not."

Lia's jaw dropped.

"A-are you kidding me? First of all, why are you suddenly telling me I'm your friend despite the fact that I only talked to you once. Second, I don't want to be friend with a famous guy" Lia explained.

Sunoo giggled. He bowed down just the exact height of her and slightly pat her head, "it's my brother's order. He wants you to be protected" Sunoo replied.

Lia deeply sighed and closed her eyes.

"You're really weird today, aren't you? You're the only child but now, you kept saying you have a brother. And even if you really have, why would he order you to do such things?" Lia responded controlling her temper.

Sunoo whimpered and shrug his shoulders.

She crossed her arms, look into Sunoo's eyes, "By the way, I don't want it. Instead of protecting me, protect Yoona instead."

"Lia Kim! I already said what I said. See you tomorrow" Sunoo stated to Lia who's about to leave.

Lia didn't turned around and totally left.

"Why are you in blues? You're literally bubbly" Sunghoon asked after fetching Lia at the bus station. They have to walk a half kilometers before reaching Lia's house.

Lia whimpered.

"Actually, there's this guy whom I cannot understand. He suddenly told me to be friends with him" Lia started.

"Friends with him? Then, what's wrong with that?"

"There's nothing wrong with it. The thing is, he told me he wants to be friend with me to protect me. That's kinda weird" she added.

Sunghoon giggled. "Who is he?"

"His name is Kim Sunoo. He said it was his brother's order to protect me and I don't even know his brother."

Sunghoon suddenly stopped from walking. Lia noticed it, that made her stop too. She looked back at him with confusion.

"Hey Sunghoon. What's wrong?" Lia asked because he keeps staring at the wind.

He snapped out of it and lifted his gaze. They stared at each other for a moment.

"Sunoo is his name?"

Lia nodded.

Sunghoon forced a smile and continued to walk, "then do you have a plan to accept the friendship he wants?" He asked.

A sigh was heard from the girl.

"I don't know" Lia blankly replied.

"You know, there's nothing wrong if you accept it. I believe he only wants what's the best for you."

"So, should I accept it?" Lia asked.

"That'll be better" he replied patting her head.

"I'll think about it" she uttered and lowered her gaze while walking.

Silence filled the surrounding. Sunghoon was bothered about something. He clenched his fist and spoke up, "Lia, what will you do if your friend is a monster?"

Lia looked at him with confusion, "what do you mean?"

"I mean, what if your friend is a monster? That hunts animals and sucks blood."

Her eyebrows met.

"Well, that's a behaviour of a mythical creature like vampires. But for me, if that ever happen, the friendship will continue as long as I'm safe" she replied while playing with her fingers.

Sunghoon smiled. "Your friend is a monster yet you still accepted it?" he questioned.

"You know, it's not their fault to be born that way. What can they do if that's the only way they can survive? And I hope there's a better world for them where they can be safe from dangerous humans." Her reply makes Sunghoon's heart ache for some reason hoping that one day, Lia can truly accept who he is without hiding anything to his identity.
