11|| Mysterious Attack

The bond between Sunghoon and Mr. Kim went well than expected.

It was Sunday morning when Lia and Eli went out. Mr. Kim asked Sunghoon to accompany him chop woods deep in the forest.

"Could you please pass me those woods?" Mr. Kim ordered as Sunghoon followed.

They tied every chopped woods altogether to be used for firewoods at home.

Sunghoon was busy tying the knot when Mr. Kim stood behind him. Sunghoon felt his presence and looked back.

His eyes widened.

Heartbeat fast.

Mr. Kim was pointing a stake straight to Sunghoon's chest.

"Who are you? Eli told me everything. I believe you're not like us. And I know this is not our first encounter. If you're here to kill my daughter, you won't succeed" Mr. Kim threatened.

Sunghoon slowly took steps back as Mr. Kim took steps towards him.

Sunghoon stopped as well as Mr. Kim. Their eyes are locked into each other.

"I am not after Lia"Sunghoon spoke up.

"So, it's true. How can you prove that you're not after her?" Mr. Kim challenged.

Sunghoon slowly raised his palm and slowly wrapped his palm around the stake, "if you don't believe me, you can struck my chest with this stake to keep your daughter away from me."

The stake was made of steel. The stake burned his palm. Sunghoon clenched his teeth and endured the pain.

Mr. Kim was too stunned to speak. Blood started to drip from Sunghoon's palm.

"Dad?! Sunghoon?!" A voice echoed. It was Lia who returned home and decided to follow them in the woods.

Mr. Kim immediately pulled back the skate and threw it away, "don't mention anything about your identity to Lia and if ever anything bad happens to her, you'll be the one to blame" he said and left him with an open wound.

"Yah! Sunghoon! You're a dead meat if you won't respond. I'm getting lost" Lia mumbled to herself and continued the search.

As soon as she breaks the weeds and vines blocking her way, she noticed Sunghoon sitting on the ground.

"Oh my! Sunghoon! Are you okay?!" Lia alarmed and ran towards him.

"You have a big wound in your palm. Where did you get this? Where's dad? Are you okay?" She asked continuously.

Sunghoon forced a smile and nodded. His lips are starting to dry with heavy sweats.

Worries filled Lia's eyes. She cupped his face to check him up but Sunghoon lost his consciousness.

Sunghoon was laid in his bed at home while Lia started to clean his wound. Lia slowly wrapped a cloth to its wound.

After finishing everything, she sat beside Sunghoon and patiently waited for him to wake up.

Sunghoon slowly gained consciousness after hours of sleeping. He opened his eyes and roamed around recognizing his own room. He sat up.

"I feel weak" he whispered to himself while trying to clear his vision. He tilted his head and saw Lia beside him peacefully sleeping.

But his eyes caught something.

"H-huh?" he uttered.

Lia's palm is over his. She was softly holding his hand.

He thought of breaking it but it might disturb her rest. He slowly lied down again and faced sideways, watching and adoring Lia silently.

"Isn't that Yoona?"

"The student whose nearly killed by a rumored vampire in the school?"

"Look! She has a patch covering her wound!"

Students from different sections started to gossip as Yoona silently pass through the hallways with her long hair down.

"Yoona? I'm glad you're out" Sunoo greeted meeting her at the door. He cupped her face and looked at her straight into the eye.

"You're still Yoona" Sunoo added smiling at her sweetly.

Yoona finally smiled, "how have you been? Did someone found out who you are?" she asked continuously.

Sunoo giggled, "I'm fine. And no one knows me aside from you. Are you now okay?"

Yoona nodded.

Sunoo hugged her while caressing her hair.

"You know, I met my two brothers. They are here in the human world with me" Sunoo happily reported breaking the hug.

Yoona's eyes sparked in disbelief.

"Really?"

"Hmmm" Sunoo hummed nodding.

"Then you'll be more safe" Yoona added.

Sunoo sighed and lowered his gaze.

"Why? You look sad. Is something going on?"

Sunoo embraced her again but this time, tighter.

"I don't want to lose you so stop roaming around the school alone. I don't want this to happen again. And I have someone bigger to protect and I know to myself I can protect you both."

"Protect who?" Yoona asked full of confusion.

They both flinched when some random girls yelled in the hallway. As they gave way to someone,it was Lia with Sunghoon beside her. He is wearing formal clothes with a gray coat.

"That girl" Sunoo uttered as they both watch them arrive.

Lia spotted them. She smiled cheerfully and walked towards them.

"Lia---" Sunoo was cut off when she passed through him and led to Yoona.

His blood starts to boil up again.

"Oh my! Glad to see you're fine" Lia beamed hugging Yoona out of nowhere.

Yoona was surprised yet she hugged her back.

"That's fine" Sunghoon teased Sunoo patting his shoulder.

Sunoo sighed deeply trying to calm down.

"Oh. What happened to your hand?" Sunoo whispered holding Sunghoon's palm with bandage.

"It was a long story" he shortly replied.

'BREAKING NEWS:

RUMORS ABOUT VAMPIRES ARE SPREADING FAST AGAIN DUE TO THE TRAUMATIC DEATH OF AN APARTMENT OWNER INCLUDING THE CASES OF A MEDICAL UNIVERSITY. SHE WAS FOUND IN HER OWN ROOM BATHING IN BLOOD WITH BITE MARKS LEFT ON HER NECK. INVESTIGATIONS ARE STILL ONGOING'

The media announced that caught the students attention. Everyone focused their eyes on the television hanged in the school hallway.

"W-wait! That apartment..... It is where Eli lives! I must go and see her!" Lia alarmed and was about to leave when Sunoo and Sunghoon stopped her.

"The place is dangerous. Let's wait for at least 30 minutes. If she won't appear, let's go altogether" Sunoo suggested.

Lia breathed heavily and tried to calm down.

They all went back in watching the television again. As soon as the news gets deeper, Sunghoon and Sunoo starts to worry.

'She's starting to attack' Sunghoon said in his thoughts.

Sunghoon held Lia's hand tightly while Sunoo pulled Yoona closed to him.
