Lia was in the middle of eating her dinner when someone knocked on the door.
"Sunghoo--" her smile suddenly dropped when she opened it- it's Eli with her pink suitcase.
"Why are you here? It's literally 9:50 at night!" Lia scolded.
"Yes I'm here because I'm dying due to overthinking whether you're still alive or not!" Eli replied.
Lia sighed and crossed her arms. Her eyes landed on Eli's pink suitcase. "Really? A pink suitcase? Don't you have a black or gray at least?"
"Awsh! There you go again changing the topic!"
Eli was about to enter when she wondered where is that boy.
"Hey Lia, where's Sunghoon by the way?" She whispered.
Lia's eyebrows went up. She went out the balcony and roamed around her eyes but there was no sign of him.
"Well, he never entered the house since you left and now, where is he?" Lia explained.
Eli pulled her inside, "then let's wait for him to return. He'll come back later for sure. I'll still do my skin care routine."
-
"Woah! Your bedroom is pretty despite the fact that your house is a little bit creepy at first sight" Eli said jumping in her bed.
Lia glared at her.
"I'm just kidding" Eli calmed her down and focused her eyes on her phone.
Lia sat on her table and start writing on her diary.
-
"Lia" Eli called as the night gets deeper.
"Hmmm?" She hummed.
"Will you stay up all night? It's almost midnight" she asked trying to open up her eyes.
Lia giggled to see her trying, "I'll sleep later on" she denied to the fact that she's waiting for Sunghoon.
"Good night" Eli mumbled before falling into her sleep.
"Goodnight" Lia replied staring at her. After a minute, she flinched when the clock strikes midnight.
She slowly stood up from her seat and opened her windows wide. The fresh and warm air blew her hair softly with the moon and stars shining brightly in the night sky.
"Sunghoon, where are you? I'm scared thinking where in the world you went. It's already midnight" she sulked in the air.
She rested her head in her palm as she stare down at the ground. The silent surrounding gave her peace.
"Lia" she flinched when someone called her name in her thoughts again.
She was about to get nervous when she spotted Sunghoon down the ground staring at her. His presence make her ignore the call as she immediately dashed downstairs.
Without a word, they stood centimeters away from each other, staring.
Lia walked towards him.
"Where have you been?" Lia asked calmly.
Sunghoon looked away and scratched his nape, "Well, I went out to meet someone."
Lia's eyes widened, "You went out to meet someone?! Did you a met a friend?! Who is it?!" she asked continuously.
Sunghoon smiled for the first time that made her froze.
"It was a coincidence. I actually went into the woods and I accidentally met him" he explained patting her head.
Lia was froze. All she can hear is her fast heartbeat while staring at Sunghoon's warm smile.
"Lia?" Sunghoon called that woke her up.
"Oh I-I'm fine. It's alright. As long as you're now here, everything's fine. By the way, you know how to smile" Lia replied.
Sunghoon's eyebrows met, "hmm? Who wouldn't?" as he shrug his shoulder.
Lia smiled, "you always talk coldly to me and you always keep a pokerface. That's why I thought I can never see you smile."
"Silly" he uttered with a giggle.
The stars including the moon witnessed how two lonely souls are happy with each other that moment.
They never went back inside the house instead, they both sat in the balcony and watched the stars together.
"You told me earlier that Eli is your friend. How long do you exactly know each other?" Sunghoon asked to start the conversation.
"A year before I could meet Jungwon" Lia simply replied.
"I see."
"Can you tell me more about your friend Jungwon?" Sunghoon added.
Lia was surprised yet she still did, "Jungwon? I met him in the middle of the wood in here. We reported him in the police as a missing person but a year and more years passed but no one came. He can't hold any iron or steel because that causes him a wound. He is allergic to garlics, hates mirrors and that's why dad renovated the house.
He changed every furniture into handmade woods. Jungwon is such a good friend. A cheerful one. He is always the one who protected me not until the rumors got out. They said he is a living vampire. People attacked us in here. The police came and chained him up in front of me. His hands are full of blood but we couldn't do anything to save him" Lia explained as tears silently fell.
Sunghoon can feel her heavy emotions.
"And that's where he disappeared?"
Lia nodded. "The police are on their way to imprison him but before we could leave the house to follow them, he is reported missing. The police are found dead and the car was crushed."
"Ah... I'm sorry for being emotional. I was just too desperate to meet him even just once" Lia excused as she wipe her tears.
Sunghoon slowly raised his hand and placed it on her back slowly patting it, "don't be. I understand your grief."
"But.... will you push him away if those rumors are true?" Sunghoon asked.
Lia quickly shook her head.
"No I won't. Even if he will turn a vampire, a monster, an alien or anything, he is still Jungwon. He is my friend" she replied.
Sunghoon gasped, "Alright. He is still your friend. Now, wipe your cheeks because I'm sure he'll return once again."
Lia giggled.
"You're ugly when you smile with tears" Sunghoon teased.
Lia glared at him.
He ruined her hair and stood up, "You should take your rest. Dawn will be here in no time. Sorry for making you wait" Sunghoon apologized and left.
Lia feel at ease to see another side of Sunghoon.
