When time froze

Chapter 27

"Your EX" Carl said confusedly. Kat nodded her head.

"Oh shit just got real" Leslie whispered to me. I put my hand out in front of her with my palm facing up. she high fives it quietly.

"Oh...um hi, I am carl" Carl says in an unsure tone then puts his hand out. Ethan shakes his and and Kat just looked at the two kinda awkwardly. It was silent for quite a while until my sister pushed by me while saying "ok look sorry for almost trying to kill you but of we don't get to the airport by tomorrow, we're pretty much screwed, so we need to go now."

"Airport?" I question.

"Ya your right, lets go" Kat said walking between Carl and Ethan. Riley walkng a into the RV and we follow with her. Kat and Ethan sit on the couch and Carl sits next to Paige at the table, across from Havana and Scott. Hana, Leslie and Ashton go back to the back like usual and I sit in shot gun. Riley starts the RV and we head off again.

"What airport?" I ask.

"Oh well I am meeting someone there" she said looking at the road, carefully.

"Who are you meeting?" I ask again.

"Um...you remember Josh, your brother in law?."

I gasp really loudly and excitedly. "Josh!!!! He is still alive!?!."

"Yup."

Josh was my brother in law that I have had for about a year now. he likes to go hunting and he is really cool. he tout me how to shoot my gun and my bow and arrow.

"Wait why are you meeting him at the airport?" I ask.

"Ok well, when mom and dad died or well froze, me and josh decided to find out what caused this and how we can stop it also we are trying to find out why we are the only people who did not get froze" she replied.

"But why meet at an air port?" I asked.

"Well we just thought it would be easy"she replied.

I nodded and looked at the road. after a while I got board and went back with the others. I went over to the edge of the table where Carl, Scott, Havana and Paige where. I stood at the edge and watched Havana and Paige play there card game. Carl was kinda looking sad as he watched them play. I crouched down so the table was chin level with me. I looked over to Carl and asked "you ok?."

After a short pause he slowly looked over to me and replied "what?...oh yea."

"Are you sure?" I asked.

"Ya" he said in a depressed tone.

"Dude I know you....i know your not ok."

He looked around and whispered to me "can I talk to you?." I nodded and we got up and went into the small bath room. He sat on top of the toilet and I laid against the sink.

"Alright what's wrong?" I asked, leaning against the sink.

"What's wrong...ha!.. my girlfriend has met her EX After she said she had never had a boyfriend before" he snapped at me.

"Ok...maybe they got into a fight or he cheated on her and that's why they broke up...she would never get back together with him, don't worry she has you"i replied calmly.

"But what if the only reason why she called him her EX is because she thought he was frozen?."

"Or what if the only reason why she broke up with him is because he abuses her or he cheated on her or maybe he broke up with her....come on Carl there are multiple reasons why they could of have broken up."
