When time froze

Chapter 12

It was the camp. we stood there looking at the crushed down walls and ashes of our buildings. our weapons where broke and burned. the Trees where crushed. small flames where every where. we just looked at the remans of our camp. My eyes filled with warm tears and they started to fall down my cheek one by one. carl dropped his bag and walked into the big whole in the wall.

He was mad and we could all tell. Havana and I walked after him and Cody and Leslie stayed back with Erin. When I got at least 4 foot steps away from the wall, I heard a crunching under my feet. I looked down and saw a bone. I couldn't tell if it was an arm bone or leg bone.... well It might be a spine. I felt like vomiting. Carl walked over to the only watch tower that wasn't on fire. it almost half-way gone but he climbed up the latter anyways. "Carl what are you doing.... get down" Havana said in a calm voice.

He ignored her and climbed to the top of the watch tower. "What are you doing" I whispered to myself. he just stood there and looked at the dirt road. me and havana just looked him in silence. I saw tears starting to roll down his cheeks and then he screamed in sadness. He fell to the ground of the watch tower and stuffed his face in his hands and continued to cry.

Havana and I climbed up there and sat down next to him. "Are you ok" Havana said.

He ignored her and just kept crying. "what's wrong?" I asked.

"I-it was my f-fault" he said.

"What was your fault?" Havana asked.

He looked up, wiped the tears out of his eyes and then said "when.... umm..." he cleared his throat and then continued "when we opened the gates to..... um let Emma in..... huh... it was my fault."

"It was not your fault.... why would you say that" I said.

"Because I was the one who opened the gates."

"Why the hell would you do that?......you realize that is the reason we are in this mess" Havana said in a rude tone.

"Yes Havana I know" carl said in a sarcastic tone of voice "and thanks for the support."

"I am just saying" she whispered to herself.

"Huh... I was mad at Luke and that is why I did it.... I did not think it cost skylars and Delilah's life and the camp" then he started to cry again.

"I am sorry.... I know it was not your fault" Havana said.

"Ya its ok" I said trying to support him "we should get back to Leslie, Cody and Erin."
Then we got up and climbed down the latter then walked over to them. we went through the whole and to the other side.

All we saw was Leslie and Cody gone. and for Erin...... we did not know what to do for him.
