When time froze

Chapter 33

I ran out to the street about to yell for the others until I heard Carl say "Aria!." I turned around and saw that Carl had a knife up to his throat and there was about 10 guys behind him. "you say anything to your people, and he dies" the guy holding the knife up Carl's throat said.

I didn't say anything and just looked at them. "come here with no word " the same guy said.

I bit my lip then slowly walked over to them. once I got to them, one guy pulled me up to him and started to wrap rope around both my hands, tying them together. I still said nothing and when he was done tying my hands, they did the same thing to Carl then pushed both us into the house. they threw us onto the couch and we sat down as all the men stood around us.  "what should we do with them?" one guy asked.

one guy came out of the group and sat on the coffee table then stared at us for a while. "how many people are in your group?" the man finally asked.

we said nothing until he pulled out a gun to my head and asked one more time "how many people are in your group?"

we still didn't say anything. "I will shoot you!" he stated.

Carl took a breath, about to say something but we heard the front door start to open. everyone turned back and looked at it. it was Kat and Ethan. "guys are you in he--" Kat was going to say but stopped once she saw all the men standing around us. there was a pause for a second and it looked like everyone froze. then the guy who had the gun up to my head, stood up then pointed it at Kat and pulled the trigger but I stood up and pushed his arm to the side, making him miss Kat by an inch. Kat reached for her gun and pulled it out then shot two shots as everyone ducked. she also missed then the group of guys started to go up to them as she and Ethan backed out the door. I ran around the couch and towards the door as Carl did the same. Kat was holding them off so Carl, Ethan, and I could get out. we got out the door and she ran to us, screaming for Leslie and Ashton. a gun shot went off right next to Ethan's leg and more of them kept going off. we ran out to the street as the men went out of the house but kept shooting. I saw Leslie and Ashton come out of there house and run down the street, pulling out there guns. they got to us and kept shooting. Carl and I hide behind the group since our hands were tied and we couldn't shoot. "lets go!" Kat yelled. she started to run down the street along with us. the men came after us so we tried to run faster. they caught up to us and kept getting closer and closer until they were with us. one of the guys put his foot under Ethan's ankle, making him trip. Ethan fell to the ground and the guy took him and threw him back. Kat instantly turned around, stopped then started to run after them.

we followed along with her. they took Ethan and ran to a car that was close to us. they threw him in the back as Kat, Ashton and Leslie shot at them. Kat got one of their tires as one guy got into the front and tried to start the car. he tried to drive but Ashton got another tire. they couldn't drive so the guy got out and took Ethan out and headed for a house. Kat got close to them and jumped on the guys back who had Ethan then started to kick and punch him. this guy was like 2 times her size. his men tired to pull her off of him as the guy still tried to make his way to the house. Leslie help by shooting some guys leg, taking them down as Ashton tried to shoot over and over again. the men got closer to the house and they finally ripped Kat off of that one guy, making her fall and hurting her self. she fell on her angler, twisting it so she couldn't walk. Ashton ran up and there along with Leslie, Carl and I. since me and Carl still could shoot, we helped her up as the men made there way into the house. they got into the house and shut the door. Leslie ran over there along with Ashton and started to slam the door and tried to open it. there was no luck of them getting it open so they took a few steps back away from the door and tried to figure out some way to get in. Ashton and Leslie looked around and then we heard and loud scream from Ethan.

"ETHAN!!!!" Kat yelled with tears filling her eyes.

Leslie's eyes lightened up and she looked over to Ashton. he looked at her and she said with little tears filling in her eyes. she put her hand around his neck and said "Ashton, I need you to walk back to the street with Kat, Aria and Carl. don't ask, just do it and don't do anything from this point on. take this and give it to Aria." then she took the locket from around her neck and put it in his hands."just listen to what I say" she once more.

"why? what are you going to do?" he asked.

"there is only one way to get Ethan and get ride of all the guys, but I don't want you to get hurt" she answered.

"what are going to do?" he asked again.

"just do what I say. NOW!" she yelled.

he stepped back. she leaned in and kissed him for about 1 minute. they pulled back and then she pushed him forward and little bit and said "go! get far away from this house."

Kat, Carl, Ashton and I walked to the other side of the street as I saw Leslie pull out the matches from her purse that she kept from Carl. she looked down at them then went over to a window and kicked it in until it was broken. "what is she doing?" Kat asked as Leslie crawled threw the window. we heard gun shots start to go off as a bright light showed through the window. I saw flames through the window and saw that they were spreading. then I saw a body get thrown out the window, guessing it was Ethan. the guy stood up and he ran to us. It was Ethan. he ran over to us as the house kept getting covered with more and more flames. Ashton's eyes filled with tears as they slid down his cheeks and so did mine. he took a deep, stuttering breath and then started to run over to the house. I looked at him then reached and grabbed his arm, making him yank back. he looked at me then I asked "what the hell do you think you are doing!?!?!"

he pulled his arm back and said "I need to try and save her."

"she is dead!!" I yelled over the flames and breaking of wood and tears.

my cheeks were soaking wet as he held out his hand and it had the locket in it. "take this. she told me to give it to you."

I grabbed it from his hand then with that he took off to the house. I didn't try to stop him. I just looked at the locket and cried. I just cried until my eyes dehydrated. almost all of my friends were gone. he crawled into the house and I knew he was a goner. "we should go" Kat suggested through tears strolling down her cheeks. I put the locket around my neck then looked at the house that was fully up in flames. I stared at it and just kept staring at it. Kat, Carl, and Ethan talked to me but I said nothing and ignored them as I just stared at the house. I sat down on the curve as I kept looking at the house. they yelled at me but I still didn't listen. I started to get really tired and started to doze off. even though the sun hasn't gone down for some reason, I didn't get any sleep. I dozed off while looking at the house then it finally went dark and I fell asleep.
