Jo got home.
Dropping Aila's bag and leaving her shocked in the street gives her a guilty feeling. Actually, she's happy whenever she sees Aila enjoying her company. She's the only one who knows the other side of her. Others know Aila as a simple and silent girl. Nah, 'cause when they are together, she speaks and laughs like the three of them are the only people in the world.
But then, pikon siyang tao. Aila knows that fact but she still kept on teasing her awhile ago.
Her fault. She whispered to herself.
Jo pulled on her pajamas and lay down her tired body on her four-poster. She's reminiscing the day's events when she remembered Madame Maxeme's requirement for them. She rummaged her notebook in her bag and searched for her lecture. She flipped the pages but found nothing. Her eyes suddenly flashed in horror. She remembered herself spending their class hours staring at the classroom window watching the sun set down instead of listening. She didn't write any.
Jo buried down her flustered face to her pillow. She doesn't know what to do now. The only chance of knowing the theme and the person to interview is Aila and Jean.
She dialed Jean's number but it's busy. She cursed under her breath and asked herself who the hell invented the word "interview."
The only choice she has is Aila.
She stopped suddenly and swallowed hard while looking at her screen name. She's thinking of asking her or not. In the end, she decided to text her.
<<besie, tungkol saan yung interview at sino dapat ang iinterbyuhin? Textback ASAP :P - Jo Cute>>
After three minutes....
~ Excuse me boss, you have a text message. ~
<<Tungkol sa mga businessmen at kung paano sila guminhawa sa buhay. Tch. Yan, napapala ng hindi nakikinig :p Palibhasa panget! Mwahahahaha! -Awesome Aila>>
She remembered the day Aila saved her number to her phone. She decided not to change it eventhough she knows Aila is not awesome. She chuckled at the memory.
<<wow ha. Ang kapal mo talaga. Wish ko lang tubuan ka ng malaking buni sa pwet at magkaron ka sana ng kurikong sa ilong. Hahaha. Oxa, thanks J PS. I don't want u to die :p >>
The smile on her face suddenly vanished when the message send failed. It's the only chance to tease Aila back. She knows she's acting childish but she doesn't care. Anyway, Jo can sleep peacefully tonight assuming Aila's reply was a sign of forgiveness on what she did awhile ago.
She put away her phone and started to concentrate on what she will do. "Hmmm. . ." she said while massaging her chin. She looks like a prat tying a bandana on her forehead. She even gets her compact mirror and studied her reflection onto it.
"Nababaliw na ata ako," she said coyly. "Apat na oras na 'kong nakatunganga dito eh. Gusto ko ng matulog."
She dropped her body and breathe the smell of her Downied canopy. She feels sleepy, but forcing herself not until she thinks of a way to do her requirement.
"Sino kayang iinterbyuhin ko?" she asked holding the mirror again like the thing will answer her query.
"Businessman?"
"Successful?"
"To make it short, successful businessman!"
[Conscience alert: Pinagdugtong mo lang eh!]
Whatevs.
She's in the middle of her ideas when a lightbulb makes it way to her brain. She bolted upright. Why she didn't think of it? Why it wasn't occurred to her early that she can interview Lolo Tops? Why it was ― oh, well ― she laid down again ― thinking he's too far from the city. The very thought of it gives her a migraine.
She closed her eyes.
As rain started to fall.
