Lionel actually wanted to look at his mails, but it just wouldn't let him rest. He immediately got up again and wanted to talk to Saskia about what had just happened and went out of his office. But when he looked at her desk, she was no longer there.

Then he would just get a coffee from the break room. As he quietly opened the door, which was only ajar, he immediately froze in his motion. He saw Saskia standing there, just enjoying a chocolate with her eyes closed.

Captivated, he looked at her face and her full lips, when she suddenly opened her eyes and looked at him, startled and caught at the same time. Immediately her cheeks turned pink and you could tell she was not at all comfortable with the situation.

Lionel cleared his throat slightly embarrassed that she had caught him staring. He was at least as uncomfortable with the whole thing as she was. He should have made his presence known, but instead he had looked at her as if she were his soon-to-be dessert. He walked up to the coffee maker and placed an espresso cup under it and pressed the button.

An awkward silence filled the room and Saskia was about to just leave. When Lionel took heart and jumped over his own shadow. He never actually apologized, assuming he was always in the right.

"Saskia, I'm sorry," was all Lionel could bring himself to say as he turned to look at her.

Saskia was already almost at the aisle when she heard the voice of her boss. He was apologizing to her? Astonished, she turned to look at him. She couldn't manage more than a nod, but then she pulled herself together. "I'm sorry too for laughing, it wasn't appropriate," she replied, still looking at him.

"Then we're even, I guess," Lionel concluded the short conversation and took his now finished espresso.

For Saskia, it was the sign best to seek the distance and return to her workplace. She quickly stowed the remaining chocolate in the drawer. As soon as she sat at the desk, Lionel came around the corner and stopped in front of her.

"Tomorrow at 10 a.m. my chauffeur will pick you up, he still knows your address. So you don't have to come here tomorrow, I'll see you at my estate to work.

Sia nodded briefly in confirmation, and he went into his office and sat down at his desk.

The day passed slowly. For the first time in a long time, she was really glad that it was finally time to go home soon. After all, she first had to pack her clothes and everything. Saskia was already panicking just thinking about it.

With mixed feelings, she closed all programs and shut down the computer. Saskia took her bag out of the drawer and put it on the shelf. She hurriedly rummaged for the opened chocolate and quickly stowed it in her bag. Who knows if she would need any more of it. Without saying goodbye to anyone, she headed down the stairs to the great hall. Safe was safe, she certainly didn't want to run into anyone else and certainly not Lionel.

Saskia was still terribly embarrassed that he had caught her snacking. But it all didn't help anymore, it had already happened. She only emerged from her unpleasant thoughts when she arrived already in front of the apartment building.

After a quick dinner, Sia was already standing at her small bedroom closet looking through her clothes. She would have liked to throw everything away, nothing really appealed to her. She rather bought what fit, the really nice pieces were never available in her size.

She sighed loudly and surrendered to her fate. Whether she liked the clothes or not, she had to pack something in her suitcase, she could hardly walk around there naked. Just the thought of it made her blush to the tips of her hair, as her boss immediately came to mind.

After what felt like hours, she had a halfway decent selection of clothing neatly shoved into the suitcase. A change of shoes and of course, as always, the charging cables had also found their way in. Now it was the turn of the bag for personal hygiene. Perfume, deodorant, toothbrush and many other utensils stowed Saskia in the large bag. Also something to the make-up could not be missing.

Saskia had the meeting with her acquaintances shortly, with whom she wanted to go party. She hoped that she could accept the invitation. Who knows what Lionel would think of and maybe he would forbid her because he wanted to work. But she prayed fervently that this was not the case. More and more often the lord crept into her thoughts and that didn't suit Sia at all, so she was eager to get out and meet someone.

Completely exhausted, she closed her packed suitcase late in the evening and took a deep breath. All this packing had been a bit of an odyssey. She was sure she could do the least wrong with the usual office attire. She had still packed some casual clothes, like a pair of comfy jeans, after all, she couldn't work 24/7.

Saskia went to sleep and tossed and turned restlessly, too anxious about the near future and how it would all turn out. Once again, images of Lionel crept into her evening thoughts. Shortly before she could finally fall asleep, she thought she smelled his elegant perfume.

Lionel, on the other hand, had not yet come to rest. Since he had arrived at his estate, he had been restlessly roaming the corridors, followed by Leo. He was worrying about everything, even his usual appetite for the excellent food had failed to appear.

Only when Leonardo gently nudged him did he come back to reality. Slowly he stroked the fur of his beloved lion. As he looked around, he noticed that he was standing in the sleeping quarters, directly in front of the guest room that his assistant would soon be living in.

He opened the door of the room and went inside. Leonardo was well behaved and waited outside the door, the latter merely glanced curiously at Lionel.

Slowly he walked through the spacious and luxuriously furnished room and stepped up to a floor-to-ceiling window. From here he could also look into the extensive park. Actually, he had several guest rooms, but he really wanted Saskia to have the most beautiful one of all.

The only drawback was that it was right next to his bedroom. Since it had been the lady's room in the past, with a connecting door to the lord. In those days it was common practice for the lords to have separate rooms.

Lionel still looked at the garden at night and raised his eyes to the beautiful night sky. Slight sadness overtook him, he had not felt something like this for a long time. Actually, his wife should sit here in front of the crackling fireplace and spend a nice evening together with him.

Unconsciously, his attention had fallen on the unused, open fireplace. Only now he noticed that he had clenched his hands to fists. He had buried them deep in his pants pockets. Lionel could tell himself as often as he liked that he preferred to be alone and didn't want any company or relationship anyway, but in truth that wasn't the case!

Sometimes he cursed his wealth and fame, which made it almost impossible for him to meet someone who wasn't after his money or status.

Slowly he walked across the room and went back out to Leonardo. Quietly, he closed the door of the bedroom and also immediately tried to shoot his thoughts.
