Saskia thought she hadn't heard right and immediately got up from her chair. Probably he had come to reprimand her for the slap. Or did he want to explain to her why he had given the house to her? She could only find out if she faced him now. "Please let me talk to him alone. It's better if I talk to Lionel in private," she spoke firmly, looking at Sam. After all, the latter had told her about his incident with the lord.

"Okay Sia. But if I hear you shouting around, or anything unusual, you can't stop me from interfering," her cousin spoke, because he didn't want her to get hurt again.

Saskia wasted no more time and stepped out into the yard. There stood the beautiful car in which Mihai had picked her up from London that day. At that time the world seemed to have been all right.

"Hello Saskia," she heard Lionel, who in the meantime had gotten out of the vintage car, speak in his velvety voice.

"Hello Lionel," she greeted him somewhat shyly, as she was now incredibly embarrassed by yesterday's outburst. How could she possibly slap her former boss. But it had just felt good at that moment. She looked him up and down. She had never seen him dressed so casually, except naked of course. Sia's cheeks reddened slightly at that thought alone, which didn't go unnoticed by Lionel.

"Do I have to be careful today, or can I talk to you without a safe distance?" the lord said with a slightly teasing undertone, alluding to her slap.

"Lionel..." she replied, brushing a few curls from her face, "I'm sorry about what happened yesterday. But you just blindsided me with that kiss."

"I know, I just acted instinctively. After all, you've never been averse to my touch," he clarified, "do you want to maybe go for a little walk, or do you want to stay here in the courtyard."

Sia thought back and forth. She didn't really feel much like going for a walk, as she was still feeling a bit ill. "I'm a little sickly, and I'd rather we sit down. There's a bench up ahead under that tree. If you want we can sit on it and talk about everything," she gave in reply, pointing to a weeping willow.

"I hope it's not a bad cold and you'll feel better soon," Lionel told her, looking at her caringly. Lionel liked the idea of the bench, after all the branches of the willow reached the ground and would keep curious looks of relatives away from Saskia and him. "Gladly, go ahead, I'll be right there," Lio told her.

Saskia was a bit puzzled why they couldn't go there together. But maybe he still had to make a quick phone call. She set off right away and walked without haste to the said place and stepped behind the protective curtain of branches.

Lionel's palms grew moist. Now or never, he thought to himself. He opened the back car door and took out the two rosebushes tied together, along with the voucher. He was so afraid of making a fool of himself right away, but he had to confess his love to Sassy! He held the gift cramped in his hands and stepped up to the weeping willow. When he had wriggled his way between the branches, he saw the bench where Saskia was sitting. She had not yet seen him, for her back was facing in his direction.

One last time he took a deep breath and expelled the air. "Saskia, I-I have something to tell you ..." he spoke nervously, stepping into her field of vision.

Sia looked up and thought she was dreaming. Lio was standing in front of her with two beautiful rose bushes. Her gaze slid further to his eyes, which looked at her with slight desperation. She wanted to say something, but she couldn't get a word out. What was he going to do?

"I want to present you with the roses so that you can plant them in the garden with me in your new, future home," he awkwardly formulated his sentence.

Saskia's gaze immediately darkened. She didn't want any of this! She didn't need his constant gifts!

Lionel knew at the same moment that he had made another mistake. But this time he didn't let it get to the point where the situation would escalate. "Wait a minute! Let me explain everything!" he shouted immediately, before Saskia could say anything scathing. He set the roses down in front of Saskia's feet and sat close beside her.

He took her hands, which were in her lap, in his and held them tightly. Immediately he felt the familiar sensation of touch and enjoyed it for a few seconds. They looked wordlessly into each other's eyes. "Please Saskia. I have to tell you, please let me finish. You were right yesterday. In the beginning it was just lust I felt for you. But since you've been out of my presence, I've only realized how important you've become to me after such a short time!" he said seriously to Sia, who was looking at him mesmerized. "Do you understand what I'm trying to tell you?" he asked in a raspy voice.

"What's all this about the jewelry and especially the house! Help me understand! Lionel, I don't know what's going on in your mind, what your thought processes are!" she replied.

"Damn you Saskia! I love you! Is that so hard for you to understand?!" he impatiently made his point and held her hands a little tighter. His eyes studied her emotions very carefully. He finally needed a reaction from her or he would perish here, his heart was beating so fast.

"You love me?" she asked in wonder. She had expected everything, but certainly not a confession of love on his part!

"Yes Saskia, I do! I would like to grow old together with you, as you so aptly put it yesterday. Even though I'm already old, but hopefully I'll get a little older," he said to her with a slight smile.

Saskia had to smile slightly at his statement and didn't want to keep him in suspense any longer: "Lionel, I love you too! For a long time, if I'm honest."

Shahbandar was surprised, he hadn't expected that she loved him too. He had seen her amorous looks then, but dismissed it as a simple crush. "May I kiss you now, my lioness, or should I expect a fight?" he asked Sia as a precaution. After all, he preferred not to get another slap in the face.

Saskia took his face in her hands and spoke, "Kiss me already."

He didn't need to be told twice and put his lips on hers. The two forgot everything around them. Closely embraced, they sat on the bench and enjoyed the moment. Sia kept running through his hair and pressed herself as close as possible to his body. His typical perfume rose to her nose, she had missed him so much. She would have loved to never let go of her old lion.
