The blouse still stuck uncomfortably to Saskia's body, but Lionel's jacket made her feel as comfortable as possible in this situation. She would have liked to lean against him again, but she didn't want to risk the peace that now reigned between them.

They were already driving almost outside of London when Lionel began to speak, "How are you, a little better?"

Saskia was still looking out the window when she started to answer, "It could be better, but yes, it's okay."

Suddenly she felt Lionel's warm fingers on hers. Immediately she turned in his direction and looked to him. His gaze was on her fingers, which he still wanted to feel on his body, more than ever even. When he felt Saskia's gaze on him, he only realized what he was actually doing here.

But before he could pull his hand away, Saskia wrapped her fingers around his and leaned against him.

Lionel took a deep breath, his heart beating nervously in his chest. It felt so wrong and so right at the same time. Where did this quick familiarity come from. This morning he had been angry with her and now she was leaning against him and they were holding hands? His eyebrows automatically went up and he couldn't grasp the situation himself.

Gently, he continued to stroke her fingers. "When you get home and change, I'd like you to be introduced to Leonardo," he spoke quietly, enjoying the moment to the fullest.

"I'd love to, I look forward to it," she replied without looking up. She much preferred to lean her head against his shoulder and play with his long fingers that just felt so wonderful. Dreamy and with butterflies in her stomach, she couldn't believe that he just allowed her closeness like that.

Mihai kept casting brief and furtive glances backwards over the mirror. Astonished, he watched the different couple touching each other trustingly. He shook his head, still in disbelief he continued towards Lionel's estate. The mere fact that his boss had said "home" to Saskia had confused him to no end. He had never heard Lionel talk to another woman like that.

Lionel took Saskia's hand in his and guided it to his lips. Gently, he placed a hand kiss on it and stroked her knuckles with his thumbs. Saskia got goose bumps all over her body when she felt Shahbandar's soft lips on her hand. She would have liked to kiss him, but she didn't know yet if he was just friendly to her and wanted to reassure her, or if he felt more for her. She rather ruled out the latter, just thinking about the older woman who had treated him so familiarly. Even though he didn't seem to have been really enthusiastic about her visit, she believed that they had something in common.

But she didn't want to think about that now, on the contrary. She wanted to repress everything unnecessary and snuggled even closer to him. Who knows how long she could enjoy it. Deeply she inhaled his scent, felt the expensive fabric of his shirt against her cheek and closed her eyes.

The rest of the ride was quiet. Lionel still held her hand and occasionally stroked it. Saskia's touches did not leave him cold. Again he let his mind wander and thought of what it would be like to feel them on his bare skin. His pants were getting uncomfortably tight in certain regions and he certainly didn't want Saskia to notice. Therefore, he moved to a different position, which caused Saskia to open her eyes and look up at him.

Lionel sank into her beautiful eyes, his gaze sliding over her full lips that seemed to be made for kissing. But he didn't want to take her by surprise, even though it was hard for him right at that moment. He let go of her hand and brushed a few strands of hair from her face and ran his thumb over her cheek.

Saskia looked into Lionel's eyes for a long time and could see so many emotions in them. His touches left her floating on cloud nine.

It had been a long time since she had had a boyfriend. When she thought about it, she hadn't really had a long-term partnership at all. Her relationships hadn't really lasted very long, but she didn't want to think about that right now. Much too beautiful was this moment, which wouldn't last too much longer, as they would soon arrive at the estate.

Lionel stroked her cheek once more and sat up straight again. Saskia also straightened up in her seat again. Both of them looked as if nothing had ever happened, even if it looked quite different inside.

No sooner had they pulled up than Lionel yanked open the door and held out his hand to Saskia so that she could get out more easily. He could be so rude, but on the whole he had good manners, Saskia thought, as she accepted his gesture and took his hand.

In the meantime, Saskia had arrived in her room. She still could not understand the whole thing. Her heart was beating excitedly and her stomach was tingling tremendously. She carefully took off Lionel's expensive jacket and hung it on an armchair. Quickly she got rid of the wet clothes that still stuck to her.

She freshened up a bit more in the bathroom and put on a spritz of perfume. Freshly changed, Saskia went, as agreed, to the entrance hall. From there she would take Lionel to Leonardo, whoever that was, he hadn't said anything else about it.

Lionel stood at the window and looked out into the garden. He was already curious about how Leo would react to Saskia and vice versa. When he heard footsteps behind him, he turned around and saw Saskia standing in front of him.

"Come, let's visit Leonardo," Lionel spoke and put his hand on Saskia's back and went up the few stairs with her.

Curious, Saskia followed Lionel and paced beside him.

"Leo!" he called his lion, who was roaming around here somewhere.

Saskia looked around and admired the beautiful pictures hanging on the walls. This must be the picture gallery, she thought excitedly. When she felt Lionel pulling her closer, she refocused on the here and now.

"Oh, wow," Saskia whispered, moved, and leaned even closer to Lionel.

Slowly and majestically, Leonardo came around the corner. Curious, the latter looked at his visitor with his yellow eyes and strode closer.

"Let me introduce you. This is Leonardo, my lion," Lionel said, not without pride in his voice.
