CHAPTER SIX
Kaito rolled off of Kiyoshi as fast as he could, but it didn't help. They were both still on the bed with bruised lips. Kiyoshi's clothes had gotten extremely distorted, his blush was too intense to hide.
"What is going on here?!" Mrs.Casper demanded. Kaito was the first to talk. "I can explain--"
He was interrupted by Kiyoshi's voice. "No, Kaito. This is something I need to tell her myself."
Mrs.Casper waited with her arms crossed over her chest. Her son tuned to face her and spoke: "Mom, you've known Kaito for awhile now. And you know he's not a bad guy. He isn't. He did nothing wrong. In fact, I wanted him to do it, because well... He's my boyfriend."
Kiyoshi's mother simply looked confused. "What are you talking about? I thought he was hurting you!"
This actually made the boys laugh. "He wasn't hurting me, I can assure you that," Kiyoshi said. "He was... kissing me."
Mrs.Casper didn't gasp. She didn't even speak. She just sat down on the bed next to her son.
"Kiyoshi, I always imagined the day you'd bring your first girlfriend home. But I never imagined you bringing your first boyfriend home. This is a new concept for me, I can't lie about that. I just need you to know I'm okay with it. Kaito's a nice boy, and I trust him to be good to you." She paused to glare at Kaito, then continued: "I promise you I would never judge you for being homosexual. I am your mother. I will accept you and love you no matter what."
Kiyoshi smiled. "Thanks mom," he said.
"So... what do we do now?" Kaito asked. Kiyoshi couldn't answer his question, he'd forgotten Kaito was even there.
"Would you like to stay for dinner, Kaito? I'm making pasta," Mrs.Casper offered. "That sounds great!" Kaito said. "I'll just call my parents to make sure it's okay."
Mrs.Casper left and the two boys were alone again. It was awkwardly silent until Kaito said, "Dude, you gonna give me the phone or not?" Kiyoshi blushed. "Oh, right," he said, then handed Kaito his cell phone.
Kaito typed in the number and pressed "call." He held the phone up to his ear. After three rings someone answered.
"Hello!" came the voice of Kaito's younger sister, Lila. "Hey, Li, are mom and dad there?" he asked. "Mom is," Lila answered. "'Kay, could you please give her the phone?" Kaito asked.
After a long pause a voice came through the phone. "Hello Kaito," his mother said. "Hey, can I stay at Kiyo's place for dinner?" Kaito asked. "Sure," his mom said, "if you don't stay too long. Have fun, but not too much fun!" Then she hang up.
"I'm staying," Kaito told Kiyoshi, while handing him his phone. "What now?"
Kiyoshi smiled. Without saying anything, he reached for Kaito's shirt and pulled it off. Then he pulled his own off.
"I like where this is going," Kaito commented. He didn't have to ask; he knew what Kiyoshi wanted him to do. He leaned in and placed a kiss on his boyfriend's neck.
"Do it some more," Kiyoshi said. Kaito was more than happy to oblige. He left a trail of kisses that went all around Kiyoshi's face, and eventually reached his lips.
Kaito forced Kiyoshi down onto the bed. He didn't resist at all. He loved having Kaito above him, kissing him. He loved Kaito more than anything in world right then. He never expected that to change.
Kaito pulled away. "I spend way too much time kissing you, dude," he said. "What ever happened to talking?"
Kiyoshi giggled. "We can talk. It's just that we're... closer now. So, we kiss. A lot. No way to make that sound normal."
Kaito laid down on the bed beside him. "I think I'd like to just talk," he said. "What about?" Kiyoshi asked. His boyfriend shrugged. "We can talk about anything, or everything. Or just us."
Kiyoshi placed his head on Kaito's shoulder. His left arm covered Kaito's bare chest. He pulled his body closer to his boyfriend's. Then he stuck his leg right in between Kaito's.
"It's nice," he said. "Being love."
Kaito nodded. "Sure is."
Kiyoshi hugged him tighter. Kaito let him. He himself was twirling locks of Kiyoshi's long hair.
"Are you excited for our date on Friday?" Kaito asked. "Yes!" Kiyoshi exclaimed. "And you're making me wait for two more days!"
Kaito chuckled. "You'll enjoy it. Trust me," he said. "I always trust you," Kiyoshi replied. Kaito smiled. "And that's why I love you."
Kiyoshi loved hearing the words come from Kaito's mouth. He loved him, really loved him. And Kiyoshi could freely love him back without judgement. His mother had accepted him and the rest of the world wasn't aware of his relationship with Kaito. He wanted it to stay that way. He like it to be their secret, and no one could ever ridicule or insult them. Kiyoshi and Kaito could just be themselves. They could love each other.
Kiyoshi heard a knock on the door. "Dinner's ready!" came the voice of his mother. "Ok!" he yelled back.
He and Kaito got off the bed and put their shirts back on. "It's better not to scar your parents with my seductive body," Kaito had said.
The boys walked to the dinning room, hand in hand. Kiyoshi's parents were both already seated at the table. Mrs.Casper smiled at Kaito. Mr.Casper, on the other hand, looked unpleased.
Kiyoshi and Kaito sat next to each other on one side of the rectangular table. Mr. and Mrs.Casper sat on the other side.
"Would either of you like something to drink?" Kiyoshi's mother asked. "I'll take water," Kaito said. "I'm not thirsty," Kiyoshi told her.
Mrs.Casper returned with the water. She gave it to Kaito, then sat back down. "Thank you for inviting me to dinner, Mr. and Mrs.Casper," Kaito said. "It was nothing!" Kiyoshi's mother replied. "And please, call me Yuri."
Kaito's eyes widened. Didn't Sophie once say that yuri meant... Kaito quickly removed the thought from his mind.
The beggining of dinner was silent. It was Mr.Casper who broke the silence. "So how long has this been going on?" he asked. He was clearly staring at the boys' hands, which were still locked together.
"Only a few days, actually," Kaito answered. Mr.Casper stared at him coldly. "According to my wife, you were very close to have only been dating for a few days."
"We aren't like that!" Kiyoshi yelled, louder than expected. He shut up instantly and pretended to mess with his food.
"I've always wanted grandchildren. But I guess it'll never happen, because my only son is gay," Mr.Casper said.
"James!" Yuri yelled at him in frustration. "Kiyoshi is your son!"
Kaito looked from Yuri to Kiyoshi. He didn't look good. His face was pale and flushed, as if he might puke. Kaito put an arm around him. "It's okay," he said in a comforting tone. "Your dad'll come around."
James left the table, leaving Yuri, Kaito, and Kiyoshi. "I'm so sorry," Yuri told Kaito. "My husband will accept it, he has to."
Dinner ended soon. Kaito thanked Yuri and James again. He kissed Kiyoshi goodbye. "See you tomorrow, my darling," Kaito told him.
Kiyoshi watched Kaito leave, then returned to his room. He locked himself in so he wouldn't have to deal with his father, or any other issues.
Kiyoshi stripped down to just his boxers before climbing into bed. It felt cold, even with all the blankets around them. He wished Kaito were there to make him warm.
