Mourn (Levi X Reader)

"What do you mean he's dead? That can't be!" I raised my voice at Hange as soon as she delivered the bad news once they got back from retaking the wall Maria

"Y/n, calm down" She looked around to see if people are looking at us. I don't give a damn! I just found out that one of my bestfriends is dead and she wants me to calm down?!

"How can I calm down Hange?! I watched you guys go, and now I also watched you guys comeback but without him and hundreds of other soldiers! And you want me to calm down?!" Fuck this! I should've just came with them! I shouldn't have agreed when Erwin told me to stay until my wound heal!

"Y/n it's hard for us too!" She couldn't help but raise her voice too, drawing some attention upon us. She cried while looking down

"He's our friend too. He's not the only person who died Y/n, a lot of our comrades did too including Moblit" She cried harder and I immediately gave her a hug, feeling sorry for her. She and Moblit were really close, and it'll be hard to adjust without him especially since they were inseparable

"I'm sorry. I just couldn't believe it. I should've came with you guys, maybe just maybe. He will still be alive" I sobbed quietly while we both hug each other. Erwin became a great friend to all of us, and losing him hurts so bad

"You should worry about Levi more" She whispered. Right! Levi. He and Erwin were the closest. I haven't checked on him yet since I haven't seen him

"I'll go now" Hange immediately got it and nodded because she's also busy. Now that Erwin's gone, Hange will be appointed as the new Commander of the Squad

It was already night when they got back from that expedition but I know that Levi is still not asleep because he sufferers from insomnia

I knocked on his door but nobody answered, I pushed it a little and found out that it is unlocked so I stepped in and close the door behind me

The room was dark, it was almost impossible to see. Luckily I know where Levi hid his torches. When I got it I looked around the place and saw him sleeping peacefully on the couch with alcohol bottles everywhere

"Levi" I whispered his name as I went to sit on the side of the couch to get a good look at him

He's sleeping peacefully but it was still clear that he had been crying before he passed out. I understand, he and Erwin were really close and I'm sure that he tried his best to save hid friend

I don't know how Erwin died, I only know that he's no longer with us. I plan on visiting him soon, I know it'll be dangerous but I can't just not see him. I wasn't there when he died, the least I can do is go and visit him

I slowly caressed Levi's face, feeling sorry for him. Almost all his life he had been following Erwin's orders, trying to be good like Erwin. And now he's gone, I'm really worried about him

Suddenly Levi's eyes started opening, guess he wasn't that drunk yet. When our eyes met I smiled at him, he then sat up and immediately gave me a hug

"I've heard about the news" I calmly said. I can't break down in front of him, I can't make this about me. I need to comfort him first

"I tried" He whispered hoarsely. I know he did, I know he tried his best

"I know. I know you did. I'm aware of how important he is to you" I kissed the side of his head as soon as I felt him crying

"We both agreed to separate. It was a ambush Y/n, they knew we were coming. Everything were just not going according to plan, we drove a lot of recruits to hell again" He was sobbing. The last time I've seen Levi like this is when his squad died. He's always been the strongest one out of all of us, but even the strongest person breaks
