"The story taught us that no matter how much you love someone and how much you want them to stay with you, they can't. Death will always break us apart" Levi, the hopeless romantic president said.

Our teacher assigned us to review a story where the guy dies because he wanted to give the girl justice for what happened to her.

"Wait. The ending stated that the girl died too and saw the guy waiting for her at the afterlife. I beg to disagree Mr. Ackerman, I don't think that the moral of the story is there's no forever because death will always come to us" My classmates and teachers went quiet and stared at both me and Levi.

"And why is that Ms. Y/n?" Our teacher asked, clearly amazed. She always enjoys it whenever me and Levi disagree on something because she knows we won't stop until one of us wins.

"I think the moral of the story is that there's always a rainbow after a storm. The guy may have died but it bought good things to her. The guy became her inspiration to everything, she traveled the world, she found the things that made her feel really happy all because of the guy" The story was painful that it made me cry for days because I couldn't move on that the main character died. It was so painful, it felt like he was real and I was close to him.

"But-" Levi was cut off by our teacher who signalled his groupmates to sit down and told me to go forward. She made Levi and I face each other like it was a debate.

"Do you think it's worth falling in love when you already know where it's leading? Death to be exact" Our teacher asked to create more drama and tension between both of us.

"No"

"Yes"

Both me and Levi glared at each other. Our teacher smirked and signalled me to go first.

"In my opinion, yes. We already know that all of this will end because of death. We cannot stop death nor forsee it but that just gives us more reason why we shouldn't take our lives for granted, we should enjoy it while we're alive. Yes, death is painful but would you really let that pain stop you from being happy? Happiness isn't something that's easy to get once you grow older, being happy when you're older is like a miracle. Losing someone is another level of pain but so is the happiness that the right person can give. They will not only let you experience happiness but maybe even euphoria" Our teacher nodded, I could tell that she was amused. My classmates also started clapping and shouting but our teacher shushed them so Levi can talk.

"I do not think it's worth loving when you already know what's about to happen. Falling in love is nice but the pain of losing someone will feel like someone just stabbed your heart and crumpled it into millions of pieces. You won't be able to recover from that, you'll forever be traumatized. It's a different kind of pain to know that the person you love will never comeback, that you will never see them again or spend time with them. Is it really worth it for temporary happiness?" Levi then smirked. I rolled my eyes and started talking.

"Yes, it will always be worth it. Just like the girl in the story, she lost the guy but she never regretted loving him even though she already knew that his job would get him killed one day. If I was placed in her position, I would also do the same. I would rather spend one last day with the person I love than spend a million more days regretting why I didn't chose to be with him" My classmates started squealing which made Levi more pissed because everyone was quiet when he answered.

"Fine, let's compare it with the story. In the story the girl almost died and almost committed suicide because she couldn't accept the fact that he was gone. She starved herself because she was still in denial. Do you really want to be in that phase of your life? Do you really want to go through all that pain and suffering?"

"Of course. We do know that death will come to us soon but death is not the goal in life. The challenge is to live a meaningful life. Can you achieve a meaningful life if you'll just wait for death to come get you? Would you say that you had a meaningful life if you didn't try your best to achieve happiness? Or at least tried to be happy? The girl chose to be happy and was contented with her choice even though she suffered for a bit because she lost the man that she love" Levi went quiet and held his hands up in the air, saying that he surrenders. I smiled in satisfaction.

"Great arguments both of you. You may now sit"

----------

"Hey, are you alright?" I asked Levi when I saw him at our usual hangout place, the back of the school.

The school ended an hour ago, there are only a few students at school that's why we decided to meet, secretly.

"Yeah, just thinking about our argument hours ago" He was looking at nowhere. His voice was sad and gloomy.

"Oh come on. You did well!" I cheered him up and gave him a hug.

"I know, it's what you said that got me thinking" I tilted my head curiously at him. I have said a lot during our argument so I wonder what I said that got him thinking.

"Which one?"

"When you said that you would rather spend one last day with the person you love than spend a million more days regretting why you didn't chose to be with that person"

"What about it? Why did it get your attention?"

"Nothing... It's just that what you said made sense. When I picture our relationship now, I realized that I will much rather spend one day with you than spend million more days without you by my side" I blushed at what he said, which caused me to look the other way just so he wouldn't notice.

You see, me and Levi have been secretly dating one another. It happened during the summer when our parents forced us to spend time together. That was when we realized that we had a lot in common and that we might just actually be suited for one another.

"Honestly, I was thinking about us when I said that argument" Now it was his turn to blush. He's so cute.

"Death really makes me scared though. I'm scared that death will take you away from me too early" He held my hand while gently caressing it.

"But like you said earlier, I should not let death have it's way of breaking us apart. If he decides to take one of us away, at least we won't regret that we had made countless memories together" He smiled softly while gently caressing my cheeks.

"You really have gone soft because of our discussion today huh?" I joked while giving him a hug.

"I love you Levi"

"I love you too, Y/N"
