Astoria's POV
"ROSE?!" Shawn and I shouted in unison.
I couldn't believe my eyes.
So Hawk was right. It was Rose.
But... why? Why was she working with villains? Why did she look so different?
Her golden hair was gone, replaced by jet-black strands flowing over her shoulders. Her usual bright blue eyes glowed an unnatural green. Even the way she stood was off—she didn't fidget or stumble like the Rose we knew.
Instead, she was calm, composed... and cold.
I swallowed hard, forcing myself to take a cautious step forward.
"Rose... is that you?" My voice wavered slightly.
Her brows furrowed.
"How do you know my name?" she asked, looking genuinely confused.
My breath hitched.
Before I could even process what she had just said, something slammed into me from behind.
Pain exploded in my back.
The world spun violently.
I barely heard Shawn's grunt of pain before my vision faded into darkness.
Rose's POV
I staggered back, my heart pounding.
Why did those two know my name?
Why did my head suddenly hurt so badly?
A strange sensation twisted in my chest, like a memory just out of reach. Before I could think about it any further, both of them collapsed.
I snapped my head up to see Vicky and Kira standing behind them, smirking.
"You okay?" Kira asked, raising a brow.
I blinked, forcing the confusion away.
"Yeah... I'm fine," I muttered, quickly looking around. "What happened to the other four chasing you?"
Vicky grinned. "I lost Hawk and Joy with a knockout potion in the potions classroom."
"And I froze Travis and Ling Ling in the dragon arena," Kira added, flicking her wand playfully.
I nodded, gripping the golden egg tighter.
"Let's get out of here before anyone else shows up."
With a flick of our wands, we vanished.

We reappeared inside the ruined castle, the moonlight barely seeping through the cracks in the ceiling.
I placed the golden egg on the stone table beside the ghost orchid.
"Two down, three more to go!" Vicky said, rubbing her hands together.
"What's left?" Kira asked.
I crossed my arms. "A lion fish spike, an amethyst gem, and... a tear of sadness."
Vicky frowned. "We should wait until tomorrow for the amethyst."
"Why?" I asked.
"It's guarded by a dragon. And at night, it's even stronger," she explained. "The sun's going down soon. Too risky."
