Vicky's POV
"Everyone clear on the plan?" I asked, scanning the faces of my teammates.
"Yes, for the fiftieth time, Vicky," Cyrus groaned, rolling his eyes.
I shot him a glare before giving him a sharp slap upside the head.
"Ow!" Cyrus yelped, rubbing the spot. "What was that for?"
"Because we need this plan to go perfectly, Cyrus," I said sternly, crossing my arms. "If we fail, everything we've worked for will have been for nothing."
My words lingered in the air, tension settling between us. Despite our usual banter, we all knew the stakes were higher than ever.
"We'll meet back here before the moon rises, right?" I reaffirmed, looking each of them in the eye.
Everyone nodded in agreement.
"And before you go, pour this on your wands," I instructed, handing out small vials filled with a shimmering liquid. "If you run into anyone, this will give you an advantage."
"What's in it?" Spencer asked, eyeing the potion suspiciously.
I smirked. "You'll find out."
"That's not ominous at all," Cyrus muttered, shaking his head.
"Everyone ready?" Rose asked, her voice steady yet laced with anticipation.
We all nodded before splitting up into two groups. Rose, Cyrus, and Kira went in one direction, while Spencer and I took another path.
As we moved through the darkness, a single thought echoed in my mind.
if this doesn't work, we're doomed.
Rose's POV
The forest around us was eerily quiet, save for the occasional crunch of leaves underfoot. As we walked, a sudden ringing noise broke the silence.
We exchanged glances before realizing the sound was coming from Kira. She sighed and reached into her pocket, pulling out her magic snow globe.
"Your mom?" Cyrus guessed.
"Unfortunately," Kira sighed before answering the call.
The image of the Snow Queen flickered into view, her cold, piercing eyes scanning the three of us before landing on me.
"Kira, darling. Is the potion ready?" she asked, her tone casual yet laced with expectation.
"Not yet, Mom. We still need the wands, the tear, and the gem. Plus, we have to complete the potion at night," Kira explained.
"Well, let me know when it's close to completion. I need to decide what to wear when we take over," the Snow Queen mused before cutting off the call.
Kira groaned, tucking the snow globe away. "Typical."
I raised an eyebrow at her. "Your mom is weird."
"Trust me, I know," Kira muttered. "All she cares about are her plans for domination. Be grateful your mom isn't like mine."
I stopped walking abruptly.
"What is it?" Kira asked, noticing my hesitation.
"I... don't remember my parents," I admitted quietly. "Whenever I try to think about them, my mind just... goes blank."
